Schwarzkopf Color Ultime 1.4 Sapphire Black Hair Dye, Permanent Intense Black with Diamond Brilliance, Fade-Resistant, Covers Grays, All Hair Textures

I combined indigo royale and ultra deep violet to achieve the most beautiful blackish purple and it worked so wonderfully. I am a little nervous for the fading process because this is a permanent hair color, but I was tired of the semi-permanent colors fading so terribly over my brown roots. Half of my hair is natural brown and bottom half is med. blonde, so all my colors fade muddy. Anyways, this dye gave me a headache and stained my skin, so use coconut oil around your hairline and have good ventilation. I will report back with how it fades, but I am incredibly happy with these results so far. Below is a before and after. I used lunar tides a few months ago and it faded to an ashy color, was not happy. Arctic fox just bleeds like crazy and the black has blue undertones so I wasn't happy with that, made my hair look green. Hoping this will fade a warm brown but we will see! The conditioning treatment smells amazingggg btw. My hair doesn’t feel as soft anymore, but thats a risk I was willing to take for this color. Update: hair is starting to grow out, my roots are almost 1/2”, i have washed it 5 times, the bottom half of my hair is blonde underneath so its still blackish purple and the top is fading to a dark brown. I am happy with this product!

I bought the Sapphire Black color. I have naturally dark brown hair that I’ve been dyeing black for years, and I can never seem to get it as black as I would like. This dye is genuinely amazing, my hair is the darkest it’s ever looked and I love the subtle hint of blue that shows when the sunlight hits my hair.

I'm over 60 and have been dying my hair various hues since age 16. I have some gray and have gone with black hair that past 10 years. The Schwartzkopf Color Ultimate Sapphire is the only color I'll use now. It takes care of all the grays, colors my hair a deep rich black, and the color stays longer than other brands. It's a few dollars more but so worth it. I have waist length thick curly hair and need two boxes each time I color my hair; Still worth it ;) Gorgeous Color.

Gorgeous, saturated, deep black shade. I’ve been dying my hair black for 38 years since I was a 15 yr old baby goth, and this is a great color and formula. Covered my streaks of grey/white hair perfectly, although I did leave it on a bit longer just in case. About 50 minutes total. I’m not a fan of the dimethicone in this conditioner because stuff like that can leave my hair pretty dry (I also live in a dry desert). However, the conditioner did leave my hair soft and shiny so I can’t complain. This color seems to stay wet the entire time and I think that’s why it IS messier than most. Wear an old shirt! Lay some garbage bags over your countertops and an old towel on the floor & keep a bleach cleaner nearby with paper towels for any accidental splats on countertops and floors, and just keep away from doors and walls entirely. If you have a box of latex gloves, use those instead of the provided gloves. Also use gloves again if at all possible, when rinsing out in the shower. I can see this absolutely staining nails (I used a clear coat and heavy nail oil in addition to gloves because I’ve dealt with staining in the past) I also suggest having some AHA or lactic acid facial pads & a nubby washcloth available for face, ears and neck, and a loofah or scrubby of some sort for body on hand, because as careful as I am, it still stained my ears, forehead and the nape of my neck and took some real effort to remove. Bonus points if you have an AHA body wash (it stained forearms where gloves didn’t reach). Hope this helps! This hair color is beautiful. Also my hair is about 1/2” below my shoulders, medium thick leaning thin, and one box just barely worked to cover my 3” of growth and former faded black dye.

Perfect color! Fading is non existent. It takes a full 6 weeks to notice the once red dye peeking through. I love it!

The Sapphire Black color is horrible. It bleeds everywhere. I stayed at an AirBnB and it was embarrassing. I bled all over the sheets.

I was looking for a good black hair color and I bought this brand based off the good reviews I read about it. And honestly, I have to say, super duper pooper impressed with this dye! First 2 months the colour was so shiny and vibrant, and it's now been 3 months, almost 4, the colour has faded but it's such a pretty colour still, the fade is still nice and shiny and works for me. This brand is awesome for black, had to tell you :)

I only dyed it yesterday so I don't know how long it lasts but I love how shiny and soft this is! The scent was more pleasant than other boxed dyes I've tried. One box gave full coverage and turned out a beautiful shiny black that is slightly blue in natural light. I attached a picture of what my hair looked like before and after.

Purchased the sapphire black. Love the depth of the colour and ease of application. My hair stayed soft. Only complaint i have is after 10 washes it is still bleeding out black. Ive been dying my hair black for years, first time using this brand, never had it bleed out for so long. Still seems to be holding its colour and ive used the conditioner it came with as well as a colour rated shampoo as always. Hoping the bleed out stops soon and doesn't cause the colour to wash out early.
