OLSON SAW CB50030BL Shopsmith Band Accessory Cool Blocks

I bought these for my old mid 80's Shopsmith bandsaw to replace the original metal blocks. Thes fit and work great with no alterations and has considerably lowered the noise levels.

These are very easy to install and work much better than the Shopsmith provided cool blocks for their bandsaw.

Fit perfectly and they wear exactly the same as SS blocks.

ShopSmith size fits and works well.

Just installed these on a Shopsmith bandsaw. they work MUCH better than the 35 year old steel guides and are much quieter. They are also required for use with 1/4 blades and smaller. They were a direct replacement and took less than 5 minutes to switch them out.Since buying these I found a better product made out of ceramic. I wish I would have found those before buying these. Oh well, these work pretty good and I'll keep them for a while.A better alternative is to ditch the guide blocks all together and go with bearing guides by Carter. But since these are about $100 cheaper then the bearing guides I'm happy with them. They work fine.

I had bought these 30+ years back at a machinery dealer (Otto Dukes) who is no longer in business. They were a great upgrade to the originals that Magna/Shopsmith had supplied in 1962. Finally got to the point where the set screws could not hold them in place. These should outlive me.

Used this on my old shop smith band saw cuts are much better. Called my brother he said to use post it notes as the gap for these and as always older brother knows. Ripped two in half stuck post it(s) to blade. Pressed these flat to blade smashing the post its and snugged them down. Rolled notes out of the way and removed them. Did the same on the other two blocks and it cuts like a great band saw.
