Will this power up a heat gun? Plan to hook a heat gun to it to tint my car windows.

Dear soap, that depend on the heat gun power, if the heat gun power less than 150w, and it should be ok, but if the heat gun power more than 150W, it would not work. Normally the heat gun power more than 150W? Please check.

does the unit use a fan

Yes it does have a fan. So I would not run it in an enclosed space like a glove box.The fan is very quiet...while sitting in a car, with the engine off and the unit powered up you can barely hear the fan from 1 foot away. At 2 feet you cannot hear it at all. So with the car running and with the addition of road noise the fan will not be an issue. Recently the unit powered a DVD player for a 20 hour trip and performed perfectly and did not overheat. Only negative...the power cord is about 18" long so trying to hide it or install it could be a challenge.

i have a big air bed i use for camping and it has a wall plug for actual home outlets for the built in air pump,will this work?

It most likely would. Check the wattage of the pump. If it's less that 150 watts AC (approx 9 amps at 13 volts DC) it should handle it.
