Review: 27" 1080p 165hz, and HDR?? - I bought this mainly for the size and the 165hz refresh rate, also I read that VA monitors have a deeper black than IPS without the constant backglow, I can confirm this seems to be the case with this VA monitor, as my previous monitor was an IPS. As an added bonus and something that isn't listed in the specs in the OSD there is an HDR option that you can enable, Windows also allows you to toggle the HDR option within the OS when this is enabled, this sets the screen to a very bright setting with no option to change the brightness but in my personal opinion it is much nicer than not enabling HDR and manually configuring it, this was based on general usage and watching HDR videos on YouTube with and without the HDR setting enabled. It's likely only HDR 400 or close to, though I thought it was a nice surprise addition nonetheless. There does appear to be some slight ghosting? As noted by other reviews, and setting the response time to standard seems to be the go to recommendation, though I would advise you try all of the OSD options and configure your graphics card drivers to get the best possible visual settings that work for you. Aside from the above it seems a perfectly good monitor for the price, the stand is fine though nothing to write home about, the OSD is easy to navigate,it has speakers which most won't use though are fine for basic use, office, maybe the odd YouTube video though I wouldn't recommend for gaming or music. All in all for the £145 I paid for the 27" 165hz version, it's well worth it. 4.5 stars Review: Extremely Good Monitor - I’ve been shopping around for a decent sized monitor for quite a while now. There are literally thousands to choose from, but I was working to a budget. I didn’t want to spend anything more than around £175. This monitor came in to save the day. I was a little skeptic about the brand as I hadn’t heard of them before, but I honestly am so impressed with the monitor. The box it comes in is really professional and neatly packed, it sets up really easily too. It automatically starts of at 60Hz, so you will need to increase it manually (something I have not figured out how to do while using an Xbox Series S). But the graphics are really smooth and a major step up from a standard TV. I got the 27” and I don’t think it’s really need to be any bigger. ## Features - IDEAL FOR HOME ENTERTAINMENT & GAMING: Full HD (1920x1080p) resolution, ultra-fast 1ms MPRT response time, and an amazing 165Hz refresh rate delivers great visual fluidity and flawless graphics no matter how quickly the in-game action unfolds. - ADAPTIVE SYNC: With Adaptive Sync technology, screen tearing and choppy frame rates are eliminated to provide seamless and smooth visuals in every scene. - VIBRANT FROM EVERY ANGLE: Enjoy accurate and vivid colours with consistent levels of brightness from any vantage point. SuperClear VA panel technology delivers best-in-class image quality, whether you are looking at the screen from above, below, front, or the side. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Brand | ViewSonic | | Product Dimensions | 45.72 x 61.47 x 22.61 cm; 4 kg | | Item model number | VX2718-P-MHD | | Manufacturer | ViewSonic | | Series | VX2718-P-MHD | | Colour | Black | | Standing screen display size | 27 Inches | | Screen Resolution | 1920x1080 | | Resolution | 1920 x 1080 Pixels | | Processor Brand | Intel | | Processor Type | 5X86 | | Processor Speed | 3.4 | | Processor Socket | BGA 413 | | Processor Count | 1 | | Memory Technology | DDR3, DDR3, DDR3 | | Maximum Memory Supported | 8 GB | | Hard Drive Size | 80 | | Hard Disk Description | HDD, HDD | | Hard Drive Interface | ATA-4 | | Hard Disk Rotational Speed | 7200 | | Graphics Card Description | Dedicated | | Graphics RAM Type | 72-Pin EDO SIMM Memory | | Graphics Card Ram Size | 8 | | Graphics Card Interface | AGP | | Number of USB 3.0 Ports | 1 | | Number of HDMI Ports | 2 | | Voltage | 240 Volts | | Optical Drive Type | BD-R | | Operating System | Windows 11 | | Are Batteries Included | No | | Lithium Battery Weight | 14 Kilograms | | Item Weight | 4 kg | | Guaranteed software updates until | unknown | ## Product Details - **Brand:** ViewSonic - **Screen size:** 27 Inches - **Resolution:** FHD 1080p - **Aspect ratio:** 16:9 - **Screen surface description:** Flat - **Image contrast ratio:** 4000:1 - **Response time:** 1 Milliseconds - **Refresh rate:** 165 Hz - **Power consumption:** 37 Watts - **Display resolution maximum:** 1920 x 1080 Pixels ## Images ![ViewSonic VX2718-P-MHD 27-inch 1080p HD Gaming Monitor, 165Hz, 1ms, Dual Integrated Speakers, Adaptive Sync, DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, for Home Entertainment and Gaming - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71R7+JeIJjL.jpg) ![ViewSonic VX2718-P-MHD 27-inch 1080p HD Gaming Monitor, 165Hz, 1ms, Dual Integrated Speakers, Adaptive Sync, DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, for Home Entertainment and Gaming - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61NTD25JOzL.jpg) ![ViewSonic VX2718-P-MHD 27-inch 1080p HD Gaming Monitor, 165Hz, 1ms, Dual Integrated Speakers, Adaptive Sync, DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, for Home Entertainment and Gaming - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71mGQ-O4o+L.jpg) ![ViewSonic VX2718-P-MHD 27-inch 1080p HD Gaming Monitor, 165Hz, 1ms, Dual Integrated Speakers, Adaptive Sync, DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, for Home Entertainment and Gaming - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61UzV5Cs0fL.jpg) ![ViewSonic VX2718-P-MHD 27-inch 1080p HD Gaming Monitor, 165Hz, 1ms, Dual Integrated Speakers, Adaptive Sync, DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, for Home Entertainment and Gaming - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51RBEhw2JwL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can I connect my MacBook or iMac to the monitor?** A: Yes, this monitor works with both MacBook and iMac. Yes it's a bit dark, yes the speakers are poor, yes the settings menu is clunky but overall its not bad. Best way to describe it, is it doesn't have all the bell's and whistles of all the top of the range monitors, but it's not bad. Can it be improved, yes, am I happy with it, yes, is it good value for money, absolutely . Seems to be let down as it it doesn't have all the latest software to make it stunning. A Good starting point for 1080p gaming, but there are better out there, just depends on your budget. Has 165mhz and display port and also comes with dp cable. The only annoying thing I've found strange, is that it doesn't have a little Green/Red led light to tell you if it's on or off. ## Frequently Bought Together - ViewSonic VX2718-P-MHD 27 Inch 1080p 1ms 180Hz Gaming Monitor with FreeSync, Eye Care, HDMI and DisplayPort - Logitech MK540 Advanced Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo for Windows, 2.4 GHz Unifying USB-Receiver, Multimedia Hotkeys, 3-Year Battery Life, for PC, Laptop - EKVANBEL Bluetooth Headset V5.2, Wireless Headphones with Noise Cancelling Microphone, On Ear Wireless Headset for Cell Phones Laptop Computer --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/297169398-viewsonic-vx2718-p-mhd-27-inch-1080p-hd-gaming-monitor](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/297169398-viewsonic-vx2718-p-mhd-27-inch-1080p-hd-gaming-monitor) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
