Bestway Power Steel 20’ x 12’ x 48” Above Ground Swimming Pool with Pump

Love this pool. This is my fourth summer having it up and running. I did change from the filer it came with to a sand filter. The only issue I have after these years is two of the straight legs have rusted and I can seem to find replacements. I've tried to order some twice. Once from Amazon and once from Bestway but both times they came in they were oval shape and not round as it looked in the picture. But I would buy this product again when I need to replace.

This is a perfect pool for my family! I didn't write a review right away because I wanted to see how it would hold up! NO LEAKS! No trouble putting it together. I LOVE IT! ❤ So does my family. I'm purchasing color changing lights from Amazon to put up over the pool. I just received my solar color changing lights today. Can't wait to see how it looks together. Want to put plants 🪴 around the pool. We're just starting to redo the yard. Photo of pool after rain storm so it's a little leafy. More pictures when complete! The Raccons keep climbing the ladder to drink from pool haven't caught them yet. Just their little sandy foot prints left behind! Pool filter is a piece of garbage! It quite working. My husband took it apart. it actually has a little aquarium propeller in it. This is good for a 20 gallon aquarium but not a pool filter! I'm not happy I gave to search for a new filter at the end of the season. My husband can fix anything. Fingers crossed! But it sounds like I have to find a new filter. Anyone purchasing this pool save yourself the heartache 💔 & buy a good filter. It took us 3 to 4 hrs. To put the pool together. Be prepared! I agree with other reviews, I don't like the latter. It needs some work. My husband is afraid I'm going to bust my head open on the concrete. It's just not stable! I love ❤ my pool but these 2 things need work. I wish bestway would send me a new filter!

The pool arrived on time! The box claimed a 30-minute setup. False! LOL! It takes that long to unpack and lay everything out. ;) However, the setup was fairly easy. I did put an underlayment down, as the pool is on my patio and despite cleaning it thoroughly, I didn’t want to run any risks of a pebble puncturing the bottom. It seems quite sturdy; it handles the rambunctious activity of 10, 11, and 13 year old boys. The bad news? The pump that comes with it is inadequate. The flow is minimal, not really allowing the water to circulate well. And a month in, the pump has gone kaput. It powers on, but no water flow in/out. I’ve disassembled and reassembled it, no luck. One would think that a quality pump would accompany such a pool, but now I’m left to purchase a whole new pump to ensure my pool doesn’t turn into a swampy cesspool of crap. The cover that comes with it is quite tricky and not a 1-person job. And the strings that are threaded in the top to cinch it don’t have any kind of “stop” on them, so they’re easily pulled within the liner, never to be seen again unless you can somehow manage to rethread it in without damaging the cover. It did say a ground cover was supplied, but there wasn’t one in the box. No biggie. Found a giant tarp at Lowe’s. The ladder could be a little sturdier, but so far, so good. Overall, happy with the purchase! Just take the other reviewer’s word and invest in a better pump right up front and avoid the frustration!

I waited a year to write this review because I wanted to see how well the pool held up through the first summer and if taking it down, storing it, and bringing it back out would meet my expectations. Given the expense, I wanted to ensure I could get more than one summer out of it. I'm happy to report that this pool is hands down worth the money. After a full summer of use and then storing it over the winter, it still looks as good as when I first bought it—no rips, tears, or any signs of wear. The durability has truly impressed me. The only minor issue is that the original pump seemed a bit underpowered for the size of the pool. This year, we upgraded to a sand pump for convenience, but the original pump was still functioning; it just required more frequent shocking than I preferred. My kids have so much room to play in this pool! There's enough space for a net and at least five people on each side to play comfortably. It has provided endless fun for my family and friends. If you're on the fence about investing in this pool, go for it—you won't be disappointed!

PLEASE think about buying a different brand pool. I bought this pool (18'x9'x48" oval) last August (2024). I finally was ready to set this pool up in the past month, for the first time. I paid to have someone level the area of the yard that I intended to put this pool. Then, the person who leveled the yard offered to put the pool up for me. NICE! However, I hadn't even gotten the pool half full of water when I notice the long sides (18' sides) are literally bowing in towards the water of the pool rather than staying firmly in place. So, I drain the pool and set it up again but used patio blocks underneath the 6 u-shaped supports (3 on each 18' side) and started filling it again. NOPE! Not even half way full and the same issue. My fear was the pool wouldn't hold up and that at some point the bowing sides would literally just collapse into the pool. So, I emptied the pool and decided to call "Support" from Bestway. 1st, a heads up.....When you go to their website it is impossible to send them a message or find an actual phone number to contact them. 2nd, if you google to get a number to contact them you will get a working number. BUT, if you have to call them back and you google again you will then see that there are at least 5 different numbers shown on various blogs. Supposedly Bestway USA is located in Arizona. Yeah....The USA headquarters may be in Arizona. But, the customer support is just like every other company...People in a room in India somewhere who have little grasp of the English language and even less knowledge or care about your situation. They're getting paid whether you get any help or not. UGH!! Anyway, called them and they emailed me a "tutorial video". NOT HELPFUL! It wasn't even the same type of frame that my pool has. It was a video for a much older version of this pool. Totally irrelevant to my situation. I called them back at the next newest number I located on google. Honestly, didn't intend to try to get anymore help from them. Told them what I thought of their service, that it was obvious they were working phone banks in India and that I would NEVER buy another Bestway product and hung up. Seriously, save yourself the frustration and buy from a different company.

We bought this pool in spring of 2023 so this is our 3rd year of use. We LOVE this pool!! The set-up was easy, the frame is sturdy (as long as you follow the recommendation to NOT climb or hang on it) and although we did upgrade the filter to a larger sand filter, the filter it came with works alright if you keep up with changing the internal A/C filter piece. We use our pool almost daily and even with the 3 rowdy teens/young adults we have, it has held up quite nicely!! I very highly recommend this pool and would absolutely buy it again...or, maybe when I can swing it, an even bigger one ❤

The pool is nice ; however, the pump is terrible. We were filling our pool and it started to leak even before we could swim in there . Beware, you must invest in getting a better pump ! Unfortunately, it is an added cost as good filter pumps are $165-200+ . It’s sturdy and cooling!

We previously had the Bestway 10X16 oval pool, and this one is a much better quality, from the steel poles and their protective coating to the pool liner being made of sturdier material. We are glad we upgraded, although it had more to do with the size difference and the price, as it was on sale. The one thing I dislike about this model is that the motor has an automatic shut off of 2,4,6,8,10, or 12 hours so it only runs for a period of time, and shuts off. I would think that a larger pool with more water would need more circulation and cleaning, and yet this one doesn’t automatically, unless it is trying to preserve the pump life? Our other, smaller model ran constantly, and was never an issue for the amount of time that we had the pool. I will say the other, smaller model came with a tarp to put down under, and although not a quality material, was useful in protecting the liner from the ground. Knowing that, we purchased a heavy duty tarp from Tractor Supply to put down, and we are glad we did, as this model didn’t come with one. Overall, we love it and have no regrets about purchasing it, and will just keep turning the pump back on! 😉

Is much better than I expected and personally think the price is amazing. However, you need to know the following. YES!!! this must be on level ground because it's over 20 thousand litres. That is around 44 THOUSAND pounds. First-year what it comes with is good, the second year you will need to make some changes. The pump is good but not good enough for 20k litres, the cover is horrible and will need to be patched constantly with gorilla tape. For what it is I'm very impressed and the kids love it. Keeping it chlorinated is easier than a hot tub due to the volume of water. A floating device with chorine pucks is all I need for the season.

So happy with this pool and very impressed with the seller! There was an issue with our shipping address, they contacted us right away and let us know. They went above and beyond to try different shipping addresses until we found a way to make it work! We got our pool today and set it up. Currently getting ready to fill it. It seems to be very good quality and exactly what we were looking for. Would recommend going through this company!
