Its awesome!
Honestly, I don't get excited about a lot of things, but this thing is awesome! I got the blue color, and it reminds me of rain or a waterfall. The gold sparkles inside are fun too, reminds me of prospecting. My wife says it satisfies her crow brain too lol. There is a review video on here where a guy shows you how to remove/add air to it to make the sand flow better, watch that and you're good.Side note: it does come with a syringe; it needs it so you can adjust the air/water amount. Of course keep it out of reach of children. If you give it as a gift I would take the syringe out of the box first and then after they open the present I would help them adjust the air levels, and then I would keep the syringe somewhere safe. With that said, this is a great gift, it's calming yet interesting, and it lets the imagination run wild. 100% recommend this

Beautiful
Only reason I'm giving it four stars is because they sent me blue instead of green

The price is terrific
The item is a decent size and it comes with a care kit. There's also directions for sand flow. The price was fabulous. The colors are great. I can't think of a bad thing to say about it.

Way better than I expected!
This product is way better than I expected. Purchased it as a "backup" Christmas gift, but ended up keeping it for myself. I have been amazed...I have used this perhaps 50 times since Christmas. I turn it over at least 1x per day. I expected the different colored sand to blend together over time, but they did not. There is still significant color striation even after the sand has been mixed over 50 times. I also expected that the way the sand drops to the bottom would decline over time, but it continues to have just a small stream or two, making the "mountain" effect. My particular item looks exactly like the picture in the product listing, even after having been used many many times. Amazing. The only small nitpicky thing that isn't perfect is the base. It's an inexpensive "hollow" plastic base. I suspect that is to keep the price-point reasonable, but it isn't of the same quality as the sand sculpture is.So I have been delighted that this exceeded my initial expectations.

Looks ok. Near impossible to get advertised results.
It deserves the reputation for being difficult. The desired and advertised results are very hard to experience. Took an hour of fiddleing with it to get anything other than a flat sand dune. This isn't something you can turn over and watch this is purely a random decor.

Personally, I love it
UPDATE: Using the syringe, I added a total of 12cc of air to this (7") and turned it over a few times, resting each time, and I got this. It's been sitting for over 12 hes like this. The trick is to get the sand to drizzle out between the air pockets since if it falls quickly, it creates a current in the water that spreads the sand as it falls. More air, less chance the sand moves quickly.I've seen a bunch of the negative comments on here but I reminded myself the pictures they show are perfect scenes and everyone isn't going to get those, in fact, there's a good chance you won't get the pictures with the great looking peaks and valleys. There are just too many variables in place here to expect perfect results most of the time. It is what it is, a random showing of sand falling through water.I say enjoy it for what it is and the randomness of the results of turning it different ways. It's not like this is a $100 piece.Mine cam intact and with the needle but I haven't used the needle yet and probably won't. I have mine sitting a division between my kitchen and living room and a small light behind it to extenuate the color of the blue sand.

Disappointed
I’ve seen others, and this one is not the same. It’s like it doesn’t have enough air in it or some thing. Not sure. But the stuff in it doesn’t pour down and create pretty peaks like the others do. Not as therapeutic or pretty as others. Disappointed.
