Hitachi-LG GUD1N Internal DVD Drive, Slim 9.5 mm DVD Player/Writer for Laptop/Desktop PC, Windows 10 Compatible, 8x Read/Write Speed - Black

Great drive! Well pleased.

Got this to replace the dvd writer for a HP laptop - the price was cheaper than a second hand one on ebay so it was a no brainer. Fitted straight in and was recognised as soon as I booted up the laptop. Have used it to copy discs and single layer dvd burning but not dual layer yet

Excellent internal DVD rewriter easy to install thank you very much

I used this to replace a faulty drive in a Dell M6400 laptop. I removed the supplied draw facia and replaced with the original faulty Dell DVD RW drive's facia. I think it was a LG super multi drive as well. Perfect operation restored with both Windows 10 & Mint Linux OSes.

My new PC came without a CD/DVD reader, but had a blank over the slot. This was easy to fit and works perfectly. Check that your model has the necessary wiring before buying.

Works perfectly so simple to install and fairly priced

I bought this drive to fit into a Dell Precision3450 small form factor desktop PC. I was impressed by the reviews and the good price. The Dell had come without an optical drive but it had a bay for it and the necessary spare SATA and power internal cables. It specifically needed a 9.5mm drive, which was another reason I bought this one as there are fewer 9.5mm drives available. When it arrived I checked it carefully against the drive bay and it fitted absolutely perfectly, clicked into place and exactly filled the hole in the facia after I removed the covering plastic. The SATA cable fitted exactly (I checked the shape of the connector and number of connections and they matched exactly) as did the same with the power connector. There were two unused in the Dell, different sizes and the larger for a hard drive. The smaller one fitted exactly with the same number of holes as pins on the power connection on the drive. So everything looked good. I fitted the drive, connected the cables, repositioned the module holding the drive and secured it in place, refitted the front facia (exact fit as I said) put the side panel back on and connected the power cable. The on/off switch lit up orange for a short time and then went off and the PC has not worked since. Completely dead. The green BIST test light on the power supply lights up green for 3 seconds wen the power is connected but nothing happens when you press the on/off button. No fan, no beep, nothing. I have fitted drives and PCie cards and graphics cards and other components to PCs before without any problems and II am reasonably competent. I have checked for obvious problems like a short circuit but can't get the PC to do anything. Removing the drive hasn't helped. I am now faced with either writing-off the PC or taking it to a specialist to repair at £120 per hour. This card has not been good value for me and I now have both the inconvenience and the cost of getting my PC repaired or I will have to spend on a new PC. Blame me and say it is my fault but if someone like me cannot install this drive without trashing their PC, many of Amazon's customers, who on average will be less computer competent than me, will have no chance.

Excellent purchase and very good value for money. Old DVD drive stopped working. New one was easily replaced.

Funktioniert bestens.

super gerät macht was es soll.
