R V Essential Pure Wintergreen Essential Oil 50ml- Gaultheria Procumbens (100% Pure and Natural Therapeutic Grade)

Good one to get out from pain.

We are not finding it pure, it seems like it is mixed. Does not give any relief We had acquired before from a leading Pharma company and it used give heat on the skin as well as the relief which was immense.

Back in the mid 60’s, when I was a toddler, they sold a wax whistle scented with wintergreen. I couldn’t help but chew it, knowing not to swallow it like gum, but told I ruined it for the whistle it would still be. That’s how much I enjoyed it as a scent to then enjoy as a chew like gum. I tried 7 drops of this great smelling wintergreen, to a third package of fat free carrot muffins that normally makes 24 a package, adding three Equal packets, 60 grams of oat bran as well as 60 grams of flaxseeds with 260 grams of water mixed to make six large muffins. The muffins were almost too sweet and wintergreen tasting, but I enjoyed them just the same.

The 100 ml oil had a pink tint, which is normal for wintergreen oil. It was also very strong, which is a good thing. I liked it so much that I bought their 300 ml bottle, but this larger bottle the oil is clear, not pinkish, and the smell seems not quite as strong. I'm not sure why that would be. Same RV brand, same Amazon supplier.

Let me be clear -- there is nothing wrong with this product for its often claimed aroma therapy uses (so far as I know). What I bought it for was as a rubber restorer for things like tape pinch rollers and rubber grommets. There used to be a product in the electronics industry called Vita-Drive for that, but it is no longer around. Tape pinch rollers are ancient history for me (though not for a thriving legacy recording studio niche) but rubber sleeves and grommets are quite another matter. I use them a fair bit and one of my gripes is my new stock of them getting hard and brittle. Some online research touted Oil of Wintergreen as a rubber restorer, and indeed it has a similar pungent odor to old Vita-Drive. Results unfortunately weren't so great. It did seem to have some restorative and preservative ability but not like Vita-Drive used to do. I haven't totally abandoned this solution but I can't say as it's been very successful.
