ContigoCortland 2.0 24oz. Water Bottle with AUTOSEAL® Lid

This is the first water bottle that I've found for my kids that has all the things I'm looking for. It's dishwasher safe, rarely (if ever) leaks, and has an easy to use valve that they can manage on their own at school, etc. Also, it's bigger than most "kids" water bottles, which allows them to take more water with them that usually lasts throughout the school day. It functions very well, and I like that the spout is not made of silicone. My younger son tends to chew on silicone spouts or straws, and then we have to replace them or throw the water bottle away all together. The water bottle fits easily into the pouches on the side of their backpacks, too, and it seems to be pretty durable. We've had them for about 6 months now, and they're going strong! It's easy for them to hold. It was a great purchase, and I would definitely buy again!

I’m going to be so sad when they quit making these water bottles. The cortland contigo is my emotional support water bottle. I just lost mine while traveling somewhere in the San Antonio airport. Now I have to get another one that is not my favorite color. So sad.

Contigo drinking vessels are my way to avoid embarrassing drops and spills. I use this one for water, lemonade, iced tea, etc, and the Contigo West Loop Coffee Travel Mugs for anything hot. I have a condition that makes dropping or spilling whatever I'm holding a common occurrence and since drinking through a straw isn't possible for me, this brand of drinking vessel saves me from both frustration and embarrassment.Another advantage is the way the lids easily open up for really thorough cleaning. I have 3 of these (plus one that went away - see below) that I rotate for my water intake.The Autoseal mechanism works very well, and I like that it's lockable, so I can throw it into a bag and not worry about anything else getting wet.Over time, screwing the lid down too tightly will wear out the seal there (as on the first one I bought), so be gentle but firm.

Just bought a second one to have as a backup. First one is a year old and looks like it might last forever.

I love that these bottles are genuinely spoil free-- you less a button when you drink, so you dint have to twist or flip anything open. You also don't have to worry about accidentally not closing it all the way and then knocking it over. You can take a drink with one hand. I don't understand how this is not the standard way water bottles are made.The only downside is that the lids are a pain to clean, and not just because you have to do it by hand. They have a lot of little parts in them. But if you put then in the dishwasher, they break and the whole bottle is useless. The bottles themselves are durable, but it is impossible to replace the lids. So you end up having to toss the whole thing because a tiny part comes loose on the lid if your water is too hot.

Traveled for a full year with this bottle, never broke one super reliable . Bring it onto the airplane empty and on the plane they could fill it for you.
