JSP Manufacturing New Aftermarket Hayward CL200 and CL220 Chlorinator Lid Cap Wrench Opener Tool Pool Pump (1)

I had a plan to make this type of tool for the sole purpose of uncapping the Hayward chlorinator (CL200) without fear that I'd break the plumbing apart by doing it bare-handed, or trying to tap it with a hammer. This tool just does the job, easily, with no wrestling needed. I threw away my sketches, which look just like this device. I thought it would need to be made from a thicker sheet of plastic, but it hasn't cracked or broken after several uses, so perhaps a thicker plastic won't be needed. It has greatly speeded my refill procedure for the chlorinator as well, a real time-saver. If you have been tempted to get one, but thought it might not work, rest easy and order one. If I had a pool service business, I'd hope it could be made in a "commercial-grade" heavier duty form, because it might get cracked if it was tossed about in a service truck.

Impossible to remove without this tool but quite a breeze with it. Tried to buy it at a pool store but they said it needed to be ordered online. Arrived promptly.

This wrench will certainly do the job. It makes opening the chlorinator much easier. My only complaint - and its not much of one - is that it is made of pretty lightweight material. Since you don't really use this much, its probably adequate - with some care, it should last for years. But, its not going to stand being dropped, stepped on, or much other abuse.

A solution to a problem that needed one. years ago these were available and then they disappeared. Very handy and they work. They seem to thin and flimsy but they work. Should make the handles a bit thicker and heavier, but these do work. Makes opening and closing the CL220 lid a whole lot easier.

Seriously, the Hayward automatic chlorinator lid is a serious design flaw that they need to fix. Until then, this wrench saves the day for removing your lid. Hopefully now I won’t have to purchase a new chlorinator everyday 2 years because the lid gets jammed so easily.

Item works well, but cutout only has two contact points with chlorinator lid.

It fit my CL200 Chlorinator perfectly, and you can use both handles at the same time if need two hands to remove a tight cover.

Made by a thin plastic and rather flimsy. The handle might cut into your hand. I have to use a piece of swimming noodle to cover it. Otherwise, it's an only tool that I can find that help to open a stubborn Chlorinator Lid.
