It's a lightweight cooler so even when you add ice and some drinks or whatever it's still easy to manage. I just threw it over my shoulder with the supplied strap and took off. As much as I banged this thing around during my trip it still looks new. Hinges and latches work well and no signs of stress etc. The rod holders make it an even handier cooler.
