Quality glass crystal. Very smooth. Has heft. Grooves are deep; cradles pens well. There is an etched design beneath to give some visual flair to an otherwise clear block of glass. The item was packaged securely in an insulated storage box. Surely an upgrade to common wooden or 3D printed options.

Greetings fellow pen/fountain pen aficionados . . . . others may like this too - but it's geared for those of us who know that keeping a filled fountain pen for ready use requires that it's horizontal. Vertical tip up and the ink flows into the converter and you have to shake the pen to get ink to the nib. Vertical with nib down and it floods. This pen holder came wrapped up like a King's coffin. Bubble wrap, plastic liner, cardboard box and the holder was on a silk bed. No kidding. It's solid and heavy, real glass/crystal and has some cool bamboo leaves etched into the back. Subtle - just visible. Otherwise, it's compact and holds my three favorite pens (Waterman, Lamy and Noodlers, with Waterman red, Waterman blue and Noodler's black). The killer is that it costs almost nothing. Less than a bottle of good ink. You can put three pens parallel to you or one perpendicular to you. Great to have a choice. Friends, I promise I am unaffiliated with this company - but what a delight to be able to buy something that looks cool and works great and it's not plastic. Come on. The top of these little jars is 3/4" lower than the top of the Montblanc "well within a well" designed bottle. Fill up these jars with your ink - you can see the colors because they are clear jars. You can insert your converter into the jar and your fingers are well above the rim of the jar - even when dipping down to the bottom of the jar. Have fun and use your pen to write someone you love a note to let them know . . . .

I didn't realize it was crystal but that's on me. It's weighty and looks really nice. It make seems durable, like it would chip but not shatter if it falls.

So impressed with this pen stand. It came securely packaged in multiple layers of padding. Then, the stand was inside a nice presentation box, so this could be a gift. What really surprised me is that this item is made of beautiful, heavy, glass. I was expecting acrylic, which would have been fine. I had recently purchased some new fountain pens and didn't like them just skating around loose on my desktop. Now, I will always know where to find my pens and they are beautifully displayed, as they ought to be. (If I can figure out how to do it, I'll post a picture as well.)

Exactly what I needed! Looks great, heavy & solid, keeps my pens from scattering. I glued some green felt on the bottom with Elmers School Glue stick so it stays in place on my desk top. OldJim
