Once you have an appropriately sized antenna, this takes care of signal loss from the antenna to the TV through the cable. It won't boost what your antenna picks up, it restores what your cable robs.

Have no way of knowing if you will get more channels. I am less than 50 miles from farthest tv station transmitter and I receive 38. Without amplifier, it was 4.
