The smell is incredibly toxic. **Q: If 1 lb is about 2 cups why are people thinking they are ripped off?** A: The canister looks half full when received. I guess the granules get compacted during shipment. Most importantly, it did not work at all for me. A feral cat was sitting in it the same night that I put it down and it didn't deter him. Saw a rabbit just the other night and it didn't deter it at all. **Q: Why did I receive a container that was half full? Why did I receive a container that wasn't even sealed?** A: The containers from this company are all half full. I'm not sure why but even when I purchased them from Walmart they were the same way.
