The trigger mechanism, on the other hand, is absolute junk. It comes loose and snaps my hand almost as often as it actually sets. The instructions are poorly written so it possible that an engineer can make this work. I am not an engineer. The bait is held to the trigger mechanism by a safety pin! In trying to secure a piece of bread as bait, the safety pin pulls through the bread. The spring is way too strong, so it's like setting a gen 1 mousetrap. Seriously you'll be gun-shy really quickly. Also the build quality is just poor attention to detail. It's unpainted so rusty out of the box, the netting is cheap as well as the trigger lines. I modified the trigger to make it more effective and easier to catch lighter weight birds. But ultimately I recommend you spend a little more and get a better trap. You'll be happy you did. CONs Rusty Stiff Spring Flips over unless attached to a board when tripped. Will kill birds if they're in the wrong spot when it triggers. (Happens more than you'd think with multiple birds at once) Recommend this trap instead.
