Great Speaker
Surprisingly good. I'm AB'ing it with two Echo 4s (in stereo) and the Klipsch the One. For a small office. I'm testing the tracks I've used to assess my larger aspirational audiophile speakers, where I know all the dynamics and instrumental separation of the tracks fairly well. In short, the Sony way outperforms the others. Two echos do provide stereo of course which is great. And I actually can recommend those in stereo. Less so on a singular echo especially comparing to the Sony. Again, not even close. Also the echos don't integrate well with Tidal and have no chromecast which the Sony does; a major reason I bought the speaker. (The echoes are obviously smart speakers however, while the Sony is not). Might be some confusion about soundstage if you've read reviews. The Sony doesn't at all mimic a wide left to right soundstage. BUT it does present a deep soundstage that provides great musical separation. The overall tuning and dynamics is way better than the other speakers. You can tweak it further with the faux 360 setting and the five band eq in the app. Both work well and the 360 isn't *totally* a gimmick. The simulated 360 effect (more like a mix/mastering affect on the track including what sounds like subtle use of reverb) works well with some recordings and less so with others. Like the LR soundstage, this too doesn't "surround" you, it just adds depth and color to the presentation of the output. A Similar comparison to the Klipsch One which is a cool little speaker. The One can't create the same soundstage and musical separation. It's more one dimensional and boxed in ( I still love it). . The Sony captures the "feel" of listening to these tracks on my higher end setup. That's the benefit of this speaker. It captures the presentation and feel of hifi (to some degree) in a very small and attractive box. I also like the aux input. I have it set up in the corner of the small room which is decent for the speaker's sound dispersion and 90 degree tweeter orientation I'd say. Also it can get fairly loud.

Excellent For All Day Music
Weโve been using this for several months and itโs my favorite indoor speaker. Iโve always used an Amazon Alexa or the portable speakers from Sonos or JBL to listen to music in the house and this is a huge upgrade. I didnโt know what I was missing! Sound quality is great. I have it linked up to my Alexa and can stream directly with my voice, or I can switch it to Bluetooth mode with the press of a button to stream from my phone. It provides excellent ambient music at levels but can really get cranking when you want to pump it up. It features a โsurroundโ mode that is supposed to make it more immersive however k find it sounds better with that option turned off . Iโve always wanted to get a full surround system set up, but my wife hasnโt approved that for our living room, so this is a great alternative. It also looks great, with a beautiful design. There are some quirks and connection issues with the app, but if you want a single speaker to fill your room with music, you canโt go wrong with this one. You can also hook it up to your tv if you have a Bluetooth enabled steaming device (like fire tv) or a Bluetooth dongle, and it is an upgrade over my Sony sound bar. Simply put, I love this speaker and am considering adding another one to a different room.

Fine
When it first arrived I honestly was unsure if I would keep it. The sound didnโt sound quite right to my liking but after playing with the app that connects to this speaker it became a much better listening experience. Donโt use the EQ settings that the app has pre-saved! Choose the custom one and tweak it to your liking and it will be a better listening experience! I also have the Sony WH-1000XM3 with a custom EQ and I used the same EQ settings on this speaker which made it sound clearer with slightly more bass. The Sony 360 Reality/Immersive Audio Enhancement button experience was not all that. I tried Amazon Music Unlimited with Sony 360 Audio Reality and although you can hear the artists voice better, the songs sounds flat and much more quiet. I donโt think itโs worth it at this time but I do see it getting better in the future. Just stick with stereo once you tweak the custom EQ to your liking. The only time I use the Immersive Audio Enhancement button is at night when Iโm watching Golden Girls for my nightly routine so itโs not too loud for my partner and itโs easier to hear their voices. This speaker is not bad at all. I actually want another one but only at the right price. I donโt think $400 for this speaker is worth it at all! I got it when it was on sale at $200 which is a much better price point for this speaker.

Not For CD Players
These types of bluetooth speakers are not for CD players that are connected to it via aux input. The sound isn't that great and is kind of low volume and not real crisp, loud, and clean. However, in contrast to that, the sound and the music from its bluetooth source is much better and it seems like these types of speakers are really designed for the bluetooth sound. Plus, I have yet to try listening to the 360 Reality Audio, therefore, that is why I'm giving this a 3-star rating, right in the middle.

A High Resolution power house!
I have used this unit for 3 years and I have to say the reports of sub-par sound are the result of users not reading. The other issue is the router & Internet service they are utilizing. Many people believe Xfinity is satisfactory. In order for this speaker to function the user must have total control of their Wi-Fi settings. I run 2-Sony SRS-3000 & 3-Sony SRS-RA5000's on my 5ghz network. Everything works smooth as butter on my ASUS ZenWiFi AXE1100 Mesh system powered by Verizon FiOS. If they'd downloaded the required Sony Music Center application they could have customized the sound quality to their particular liking. I have gone with the Deezer music streaming service for its high resolution audio and compatibility with Google Home. I have a SRS-RA3000 in both my kitchen and bathroom. When in the kitchen I can request anything I desire on my Google Home mini. When in the bathroom/ showe I can request high resolution music on my Pixel Watch โ controlling both volume and track selection from my watch.

How did Sony mess this up?
Very expensive speaker considering you donโt get much bang for your buck. Weak and distorted bass no matter what setting you use. 360 feature is gimmicky and not really worth the trouble, and it is trouble to play 360 audio on this devise. 360 feature is not supported natively on most apps. Also, you cannot get Apple Music through Amazon on this device. Connecting AUX cord creates permanent slight buzzing sound that is noticeable at most volume levels when not playing music. I used an Amazon Echo (4th gen. ball) side by side and the Echo sounded so much better in ever way. It just looks boring compared to the Sony. The Sony does look and feel premium, even though it doesnโt sound it.

Best speaker ever
This is a solid speaker, not only for sound quality, but also for volume and connectivity as well. With Bluetooth and AUX included, this speaker allows you to connect to a variety of devices that you own, including laptops and phones. I would recommend any Sony product to those who want premium sound for mid range price.

Loud! Full Bass!
*It's to be noted that I returned this speaker but only due to the fact that it was too much for the room I had in it. The room size was 14x15 and the speaker filled it with ease. I was able to acquire a smaller speaker with enough volume to fill the room and also the other speaker matched our color scheme a little better. If I had a garage or building to put this in I would have totally kept it. Great speaker with all around full sound. Lows, Mids, Highs were all near perfect on this speaker. I could feel the beat in my chest on the other side of the room (size of room stated above).

A very good speaker
This is an excellent Bluetooth speaker from Sony the music is very clear I play my I tunes music from my Sony NW-505 Walkman and I can adjust the sound to suit my preference.I am surprised how such a small speaker can fill the room with sound I am very pleased with it's performance.

Great speaker but pricy
This product sounds great. But you can have near three nest audio speakers for the same price with approx. the same sound quality. I appreciate the product but the price appears high compare to competitors. Note: Add your TV soundbar&subwoofer with your chromecast Google TV in a speakers group make an incredible ambiophony experience.

Not that impressive
Having other Sony 360 Reality Audio products (Wh & WF-1000 headphones and earphones), this was my least favorite. Sound wasn't tight, and had come connectivity issues. Had to send it back.

stopped wifi connection with amazon music
This speaker worked for a few weeks with a wifi connection with amazon music. Yesterday, amazon music could not identify it as a wifi device. I reset the speaker, unplugged it and plugged back in, disconnected and reconnected to wifi, but still amazon music could not identify it as a wifi device. Bluetooth still works. 360 sound is interesting, but now really wow, and for some recordings it just adds distortion/reverberation. Sound quality is OK but not audiophile, and I don't know how it compares with other standalone wifi speakers like sonos and amazon echo. For the price and the sony brand, this problem should not have occurred. I think its a software issue with sony or amazon music, but regardless, it doesn't connect by wifi with amazon music anymore. If you have amazon music, dont buy it. for other music streaming services, good luck. I returned it.

Worked for a year, but is slowly disassembling itself.
I bought this speaker as a "like-new" refurb from amazon (~$300) to emit bass-heavy whitenoise while I sleep, about a year ago. Speaker is fine, sound quality is pretty good, bass is a bit light for my taste, but a custom equalizer in the sony music app helps, features are good, though the chromecast can be resistant to a connection sometimes (connects after 3 or so attempts) After a few months the plastic framing began to rattle (loudly) when the speaker was above 50% volume. More recently, it has begun to emit a whining high-pitch sound as though one of its internal components is loose, when the speaker is played above 30% volume after around 20 minutes. It still sounds fine for normal music, maybe in the garage, but for its purchased purpose it has actually become a hindrance rather than a sleep-aid. Regrets.
