In her 20s, Dr. Rebecca Lacouture had a hard time finding clean, effective skincare products that would not irritate her sensitive skin. With PhDs in biotech/biomedical engineering, she and her co-founder, Greg Altman, developed an idea to replace the harmful ingredients in skincare with molecules found in natural silk protein. They called their innovation Activated Silk. Made from real silk in liquid form, bioharmonious Activated Silk can now replace many of the harsh and synthetic chemicals found in the skincare and personal care products we love.
