Printer is fast compared to the Dell 5330dn. Very good product.
I chose the printer because was fast (63 ppm). When you ran 1000+ statements and would like to get it done and go home we needed something fast

Requires a lot of maintenance
Dell (or should I say Lexmark) has designed this printer not to last. After only about 2 years of use the machine is nagging me to replace the "maintenance kit." I've looked online and this kit costs almost $400 so I'll probably just purchase a different printer and throw this one away.

I highly recommend not buying this printer.
I hate this printer. if you plan to use this for printing envelopes, look elsewhere. Cons: 1) prints AT MOST 4 envelopes a minute. This means a batch of 1000 envelopes will tie up your printer for over half a work day. 2) drum units claim to last 100,000 prints and we get at most 40,000 prints on one before it goes to crap. 3) this goes along with con #2, the drum unit costs almost $100 so that's $100 a month added to our expense to run this machine 4) if you are faced with the choice of using generic toner or taking a dump inside your machine, you will find that the second choice will actually do less damage to your printer. By that I mean, only use generic toner on this machine if you really really really want to have a technician come out to service your broken printer. 5) this is the most major con....since you can't use generic toner, the Dell toner cartridges cost almost $450. Add in the $100 a month for the drum and now we spend $550 a month to run this printer. Compare that to my Kyocera fs-4020 which costs under $100 a month to run the same volume and prints 1000 envelopes in 90 minutes instead of 5 hours and you will see why only a true masochist should by this machine. 6) customer support speaks English, but they are in Bangalore, India and it's very hard to understand them on the phone most of the time....and since you will be calling them about once every few weeks, this is a bigger negative than you might think. For the record, we did not buy this, it was sent to us by dell to replace a 5320dn since they no longer make that model. The 5320 dn was also a turd, which is why they replaced it for free (after having to install a new fuser every month for over a year, they decided to just send me a new printer). If I'd known how much this printer would have ended up costing us in drums and toner, I would have told them not to bother. Here is Dells business model, 1) sell printers for a decent price 2) make it so "cheap" printer ends up costing you $1000s more than other options. I've owned 3 dells and 3 Kyocera's and I will only buy Kyocera from now on. They are so much cheaper in the long run, I can not even begin to explain. We print an average of 25,000 pages and 20,000 envelopes a month.

Decent fast printer
It's a fast reliable printer and if you are printing office documents a lot without many images it will work fine. I am about to purchase a second one and with a 3yr warranty and the 45k toner its not even a penny a page. Can't go wrong there. I will provide updates if the thing goes bad on me, but so far so good in its first 5 months of use. We maybe do 7k prints a month. If you are looking for pro grade prints though that need to be turned in for projects and clients and such; this isn't for something like that in my opinion.
