I am amazed at this fake owl decoy. It doesn't look all that pretty and I was at first not so happy to pay so much for this item, but I think it is worth it because it scared away the birds that were trying to make nests near my front door just below the roof area. It works very well because the birds do not come close to the house anymore even though I have bushes and small tree near the front of house. The head moves when the wind blows, which I find amusing. The yellow eyes look fake and plastic cheap, and gets the attention of the postal people and delivery people. But it really does the job of scaring the birds away. I want the birds not to come close to the house especially because I have a fountain I do not want them landing on because I use pool chemicals to keep water clear. I wouldn't want birds drinking that. I do not place the owl in direct sunlight, so I hope it will last a long time. I'm glad I purchased this item. I wish at night it made hoot noises, but it does not. The bottom has a lid if you ever want to put rocks or sand in it to weigh it down. It's plastic material and lightweight. Looks cheap quality, but overall I'm happy with it because it keeps birds away.

I used these Hedoc owl decoys to keep birds off my patio and plants. The rotating head really helps because it moves in the wind and doesn’t look like a stiff plastic statue. From a distance it looks realistic enough to make birds hesitate landing. They held up fine in sun and rain and were easy to set up. Honest part: birds eventually figure it out if you leave it in one place. Once I started moving the owls every few days, they worked much better. Overall: not a magic fix, but a simple and humane way to reduce bird mess.

The owl with a rotating head has been on our patio table, which is located under the patio cover for 5 days. I'm very impressed with it. Normally, the table and 2 or 3 chairs are decorated by birds daily. To date, the chairs have only experienced one bird dropping. I have been moving the owl daily on the tabletop, and I think that may have helped. We own two rental homes with swimming pools, which have experienced duck activity. So, we have had owls "guarding the Pools" for 2 or 3 years with pretty good luck. The heads of these owls are stationary, and the tenants do not move the owls around. Although not 100% effective, these two owls do appear to slow the duck traffic somewhat.

This bird appears exactly as the picture depicts. The head swivels, which gives the owl a great appearance. The days of having birds poop all over the porch are gone. This fake owl did the trick. I put it between my two chairs and wow, No birds. I would buy another one of these. The size of this device replicates an owl to perfection. The colors are well detailed and it definitely doesn't look cheap, but is of value for the money you spend on it. The functionality of this cannot be underestimated. I filled the bird with gravel to hold it down and it's really durable. We have had to 30-50 mph winds and the owl stood its ground. There was no assembly needed other than putting soil in the bottom to keep it stabile.

The owl looks sturdy and realistic, however, I noticed the following: • The wind panel and screws for securing the base were not included. • The head's neutral position points to the owl's left at 10 o'clock. I'm not happy with this purchase, and I will find another option.

Purchased these owls to deter woodpeckers from pecking holes in my home. Didn’t scare the birds or even the rabbits we have living around our home at all. They were made ok and heads spun with a breeze. They don’t do what we purchased them to do or as described. Not deterrents!!

Absolutely useless. Put it in place and within an hour a pigeon was perched on its head
