I don't think it would. I use it in engine rebuilds.I think shocks use a thinner oil.

Depending on how much you slather on. I would say 4oz would be able to do multiple 6 cylinders.

It doesn't say so on the label, but it is made from petroleum distillates, so I imagine it will burn, question is how hot the flash point is
