I purchased this scoop for our in-freezer ice maker. It’s not too big that it takes up space, but big enough that you get a good scoop! It’s been very sturdy with no wear or tear, no chips or cracks. We love ours.

I finally got tired of our 1-cup measuring cup constantly disappearing into the ice bin, so I bought this, and it has been a great upgrade. It's the perfect size for filling glasses, feels sturdy without being heavy, and the clear plastic makes it easy to see that it's clean. The scoop is well made, comfortable to use, and much more appropriate than sacrificing a kitchen measuring cup to ice duty. It's also dishwasher safe, which is a nice bonus. Simple product, good quality, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I'd definitely recommend it.

I don’t usually review a low cost kitchen item but was so pleased with this I decided to. First, it’s made of stiff and solid translucent plastic so it doesn’t flex or bend like the cheap plastic ones that are often in hotel ice machines. The material is reminiscent of the old school red drinking cups from Pizza Hut restaurants (see my picture). Second, it is the perfect size for my ice bin in my basic top freezer refrigerator. It doesn’t block the machine from making ice while scooping enough ice to fill a huge cup with a couple of scoops. It would easily fill a normal drinking glass with one scoop. Third is the design. Some engineer really thought about this. The width and spout are wide enough for scooping up a lot of ice yet shaped to pour ice into an average drinking glass without over spill. The angle of the handle to the scoop is ideal - even with my ice bucket being around 5 feet high I don’t have to hold it at a weird angle to scoop easily. Lastly the scoop is flat bottomed. I never thought about this before but it somehow makes the scoop more pleasing to use. And finally, it’s as cheap as the crappy scoops. I’ve been scooping ice with my fingers for 30 years. I should have gotten this decades ago.

Good ice scooper to keep in your freezer / ice maker. It seems to be quality-made. It was worth spending a little more vs. going a cheaper $1 store version. Nice size.

It's not often that you can spend $7 and make your wife very, very happy. Wife LOVE's It. She insisted that I go online and enter a positive review. i spent years working in Plastic Injection Molding, so I knew that a molded polycarbonate scoop was going to be strong and durable. What we were not prepared for was just how perfectly formed the scoop is. She pours ice into her water canister with the narrow top - no problem. I fill a cocktail glass again with no problem. Perfectly designed, perfectly executed. Oh yes, I looked at Stainless Steel scoops. I was drawn to the Polycarbonate because it would not feel so cold sitting in the ice bin. Good choice. It doesn't feel cold at all. Like said above, it just works, perfectly.

This product is PERFECTLY safe to use. Don't let BPA stop you. This is not a product you store food in or drink liquids out of. It is a hard plastic that does not come in contact with acidic water or foods for long, extended periods of time. The BPA will not leech out when used in hard plastics like in this ice scoop -- It is relatively inert. We have used this exact Rubbermaid ice scoop in a commercial setting for over 20 years and it is still strong. We even wash it in a commercial dishwasher. Not brittle, not compromised, not degrading, and likely not leeching chemicals from the plastic. The size (6oz) is perfect for home use. One scoop is enough to fill a larger glass almost full with ice. It also fits nicely when scooping ice in the Rubbermaid brand white plastic Ice Cube Storage Bin (also sold on Amazon) that many people use to store ice in their freezers.

We purchased this for inside of our fridge to scoop out the ice. nice good size and sturdy. Good quality.
