When I get implement like this I submit it to a simple test: Show me something what I cannot see with naked eyes. Normally I focus on licence plates of cars being so far and under such low light conditions that I cannot read the letters or numbers. Optics will passed the test when I can read the plate which I could not read without the optics. This time I concentrated on a house door about 150 yards away. Time was between 9 and 10 PM. There was a lamp above the door but I could not see door knob anyway. So the test would be to see the door knob. I adjusted for distance and immediately could see the door knob. After that I walked view around the door and all of sudden I could see house number. Single digits were attached vertically and parallelly with door longer side. I could read the number quite comfortably, well other than my shaking hands. The house number was invisible without binoculars. This was excellent test of light throughput and magnification and these Leupold binoculars passed it with flying colors. I may buy the binoculars again, if not for me than as a gift for someone else.
