Player Preferred Baseball Glove | Baseball & Slowpitch Softball

This review is for the 14" outfield model. Let me say that I have very large hands. In regular gloves (batting, winter, etc) I would usually need an XXL. In motorcycle gloves I order a XXXL and sometimes they are tight. I went to a couple big box stores and tried on several baseball mitts from a few different manufacturers, and they were all super tight, most I couldn't get my hand in, so I was worried when I ordered this one online. I ordered this Rawlings in the 14" outfield model. As soon as it arrived I put my hand in and man it fit great; snug but I could get the full length of my fingers into the pockets and my whole hand into the glove. Perfect! Additionally it was already very soft, and while it still needs some breaking in I played a game with it just two days later and made a few nice catches. I'm really impressed with this glove and for the money it's an absolute steal.

I picked up this Rawlings Player Preferred glove for weekend softball games and it’s been a great choice. The 12.5 inch size with the basket web is super versatile. It works well whether I’m in the outfield or just playing catch. One thing I really like is how soft and broken-in it felt right out of the box. There was still a little shaping needed, but it didn’t take much to get it ready for the field. The leather feels solid for the price, and the padded interior makes it comfortable to wear for longer stretches. I’m not a serious player, just someone who enjoys a good game with friends, and this glove gets the job done. If you’re looking for something reliable that doesn’t cost a fortune, this is a great option. It would be perfect for casual players, beginners, or anyone needing a quality backup glove.

Glove broke in very fast and is great quality. Very happy with this glove as a replacement for my very well broke in 15-year old glove.

Bought this glove for my daughter that plays 1B part-time for her 10U travel ball team. Figured at this price point it's easy enough for her to throw it in her bag as a backup glove when she needs it. At first this glove felt way too soft and squishy from the factory. I wasn’t sure it would break-in since it was already so soft. After a few weeks of playing catch with 2 fingers in the pinky I’m happy to report a nice pocket has formed and it’s a very satisfying feel. 11-inch softballs are easy to snag, 12-inch are a little large, baseballs are gobbled up. Really good beginner mitt at an entry level price. The leather has a raw, suede finish and feels really natural. Love Rawlings gloves and this is a good one.

Great glove for the price. Maybe I'm old school but its nice having a brown leather mitt with no crazy colors. Allows me to catch for my son, but I still need to get shin guards.

Great quality for the price! It feels great and comes reasonably easy to play with from the get go. I was able to play catch right away and I oiled and worked it afterwards. The glove works in well and softens right up. I’m 65 and only want to play catch and teach kids to play. Rawlings has the been my go to for gloves since the 60’s. You can’t go wrong with them. Your needs may be different than mine, but this glove is a great value and choice. I’m very pleased with it.

The glove is better quality then Rawlings renegade series, as I have 2 of those to compare. Where ever you look the quality is better. On the outside and laces of Player preferred are leather, only the inside looks like artificial material. The looks are as a of classic glove. Comparing the both its strange that renegade and player series they are being sold sometimes for the same price. As the quality is definitely on player preferred side. On Rawlings renegade it said its 90% factory broken in, it came stiff as a rock. Took me a week to break it. This player preferred says 80% factory broken and it came almost game ready. I guess Rawlings has different quality control in different factories. As player preferred is made in Vietnam and Renegade is in made in Cambodia. The only thing that Renegade is better it has longer strap and more room for hand adjustment. Hope this helps for yor purchase.

Good Dad glove, broke in in under 30 minutes of mallet work after conditioning. My sons are starting to throw pretty hard now, catches feel like butter with this glove.

Super glove .. breaking in nicely. Helps get the grounders and bad throws I was missing before!
