I'll echo what some of the others have said on here. 1)This is my first translucent one, and it is translucent, not transparent. For the most part, this means it's functionally not all that helpful over an opaque barrel, but it's still cool! (and when you have 7+ days to wait for something, even a little bit more to watch is great!) 2)The barrel is more stiff than others I've used, but that's no biggie-- I just hit the rim of the barrel with the heat gun before taking the lid on or off. (I shouldn't have to say this but I know I do.. please use caution! I carefully applied low heat for only a few seconds, and I also did it in a ventilated area and held my breath) 3) for such a cool barrel, the lid is doo-doo. The only issue is the main disc of aluminium needs to be thicker. like, twice as thick, thicker. 5 stars for a better lid, only 4 as-is. The barrel seems like it will last, but I'm not sure that lid will take more than a few batches of rocks (on/off/on/off) before bending and becoming useless.. need to go looking for my old lids to see if they fit...

This is plastic so it is quite noisy. Plastic barrel has no give and with the tight sealing lid it takes n patience.

It is quiet. As far as getting the lid off, most barrels I've used (4 brands of tumbler machines) need a bit of prying. If you put a different knob on the top (one that is wider) it is easier to pull. I like watching the tumbling process.

Durable plastic PVC material, fits my Lincoln, and good value for $. Works well.

These barrels are smooth inside with no ribs or ridges to actually cause the tumbling action needed. After filling with less than 1lb of stainless shot, enough ware to cover and my pieces of jewelry I could watch the barrel turn round snd round while the stuff inside just sloshed around at the bottom, never truly tumbling. Imagine a washing machine without its “fins” inside nothing would ever move from the weight of the water. Do not waste your money if you want this for jewelry making.

fits my Harbor freight tumbler. I had used too much dish detergent in the black Harbor Freight one and that leaked the black into the water and ..believe it or not…into my silver jewelry. Now I know better and am glad that I found this one. Works perfectly!
