The classic Napa Cab at an amazing price
We tasted this bottle along with 2 others in the Private Reserve Collection, the 2007 and 2011, over the course of a week, so I'm referencing the three in each review. These are all just excellent - classic "special Napa Cab" that you really can't find at this price. I am anxious to buy more to save and drink over the years. We tasted it with 4 people and all really enjoyed it. It was approachable for the less wine-y tasters and equally great for the more experienced Cab lovers. As other reviewers have said, decant this for at least an hour, preferable a few, and take your time drinking it. As with the others in this collection, we found the strongest quality to be it's smoothness - it's truly velvety in the mouth, with a jammy start and a really nice dry, earthy note in middle and finish. There is no bitterness, and great balance. This collection (or this individual wine itself!) is a must-have, and an amazing gift - highly recommended!

What a Cabernet Sauvignon should be like
To my way of thinking, a good Cabernet Sauvignon is the quintessential quality dry red wine. The 2010 Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Cameron Hughes certainly deserves that label. This is one of the most complex Cabs I have experienced, one that keeps its various highlights in perfect balance. Tannins are present from start to finish, but are by no means overpowering. As a result, the flavor of dark berries comes to the fore as does a distinct hint of chocolate, leaving a perfect taste in the mouth. This wine definitely deserves aeration to fully bring out its complexity. This 2010 Cabernet will definitely stand up to the most robust cut of beef, particularly a top quality steak. I'd also suggest trying it with a strong, pungent cheese.I received this bottle from Cameron Hughes in exchange for writing an honest review, which I am happy to provide.

This is so amazing, I bought three
Huge nose, leaps out to you. Smooth tannins, symphonic and balanced with pronounced fruit, blackberries, blueberries and dark fruit, somewhat juicy and lush. Decant for a few hours. This is so amazing, I bought three, one to drink now, another to drink in a few years and the third one to drink at least five years from now. Yes, it's that good. Correction, it's really that excellent.
