Elegant pleasure
What can I say? It's been almost a decade since these grapes were harvested and made into wine. And this 2006 Cameron Hughes Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has simply gotten better with age. What you'll experience when you uncork a bottle is a wine that has come close to achieving perfection. Strong but pleasant tannins greet you with the first sip and remain on the palate as they are joined by the powerful flavor of dark fruit (primarily blackberry and plum) with the slightest hint of tobacco, all of which make for a most pleasant sensation, as you enjoy the silky smoothness that permeates the mouth. The pleasant taste experience lingers on the palate as a hint of sweetness appears at the end. Having tried the 2007-2012 CH Private Reserve Cabs before uncorking this 2006 I wait with eager anticipation to see what these other vintages will be like when they've been aged for 10 years. If they age as well as this one has, I'm in for a wonderful experience. For that matter, I have every reason to believe that this 2006 will become better with each passing year. This is a wine to buy more than one of so you can put at least one aside for the future.Spend an evening with a glass of this wine, nursing it to gain the maximum pleasure from its complex nature. And, if you decide instead to drink it with a meal, let me suggest you pair it with the best steak you can find. A SCREAMING Deal
Big, full, rich iconic Napa Cab with a big personality. A little grippy, but for me that’s a feature. Still young for an 06. Cassis on the nose and in the palate. Semi-aggressive tannins that softened when we revisited an hour later. You can easily lay this down another 5 years. This is a major league iconic Napa Cab. You can get this (I got three) at this low price or pay over $400 for the same wine on another label.

What a Deal!
Can't believe a wine like this for only $75! Better yet, it tastes great! You can't find anything that compares to this wine for under $100. Great deal, great wine! I am always impressed by Cameron Hughes.
