**Q: How does the cinch open? I just received it and find it very cumbersome and laborious.**
A: Don't try to force it open like a regular cinch bag. Rather, pull the plastic tab straight back away from the frame. There is a good video on YouTube by Pack Hacker Reviews that shows all the details and functions, must-watch if you are having issues.

**Q: Is this backpack packable without taking up a lot of space?  Would it lie flat in a 40L backpack?**
A: Yes it would lay flat or fold into a small area

A: Yes

**Q: is this item waterproof or water resistant?**
A: No, you would need a pack cover to keep water out. I would say it is water resistant to a point but once it gets past that point it will soak through.

LOVE THIS BACKPACK. The cinch at the top is a different hand mechanic, and a little stiff at first, but during three days and 15 miles in Hocking Hills, Ohio we were fast friends. Carried everything for me, and my dog (lunch for us both, first aid, dry socks, a frogger togger towel, keys, wallet) and a 2.5L water bladder. The sky blue and white daisy bag is beautiful quality. First ever osprey pack, will 100% buy more if this one ever isn't big enough.
