Great product.
I have never written a review about anything, but this product deserves one.I have had the pocket hitch for about 3 months now and have put it under very heavy use.I am an iron worker and, at bare minimum, need a 35" tape on me at all times. The leather and stitching on this are good quality and hold up well. The tape clip mount itself holds its own well, and the metal form clip inside of it holds its shape and keeps a tight fit while mounted on a pants pocket. This is comfortable to wear and, for me, sits neither too high or too low.I will say that the one i have definitely developed a broken-in look shortly after first starting to use it. This happened quickly and initially i was concerned it would not last. But after a few months, it is just as i said- broken-in.This fits a fatmax and a masterforce just fine with 1/4 inch to spare in the clip mount. The tape fits very snug but is able to slide out and be re-mounted with ease.Out of the 100 times a day i unmount my tape from it, maybe once (at most) does the hitch slide off my pocket, so that is not an issue at all.Best part about this- no more ripped up pockets.Overall this is a fine American-made product and i highly recommend it to anyone in search of a tape-mount.

If I could give 10 stars I would
This is the best tape holder on the market! Hands down! Best purchase I have ever made in my 8 year plumbing career. I got one a year into my career after a fellow employee showed me his and said you don't want it you need it. He was exactly right. That lasted me all the way up until now. 7 years later. The only thing that came undone was the stitching around the metal clip. I bet the tape came off the clip from running or hitting something just right only 15 or so times in the 7 years I wore it everyday on the job. It clips on and off so easy. If there was a showdown in tape measures you would win. Everytime. If you're thinking of getting one. DO IT! You won't regret the decision. I promise you that.Hats off to you pocket hitch!

Awesome holder for your Tape Measure
If you are looking at this item it's because you work in construction or remodeling. If you are a business owner or someone who meets with customers and gives bids this thing it gold!Example:I ow my own construction and remodeling business. On job sites I wear a work belt with a small bag on my left that holds bits, speed square, pencil, knife, chalk line and random screws or nails depending on the job.On my right I wear a drill hook holder and this tape measure holder. I love having the tape measure in 1 place knowing where to reach for it throughout the day and I love that it's locked in place with the solid metal hook. The leather slip over strap grabs my work belt and never lets go.The other thing I've really enjoyed is pulling the holder off my belt and using it during bids when not in "work clothes"If I have to meet a customer on a weekend or some other random time I simply pull the holster off my work belt and slide it over my pants or shorts...it works the same and looks awesome when meeting customers for the first time.At this price point, don't even think twice...get this tape measure holder!

A LOT better than just clipping your tape on your pocket
I got this because I used to clip my tape to my belt but couldn't anymore because I switched to overalls.Pros, durable, low profile, keeps my pocket from ripping.Cons, slips out of my pocket and stays attached to my tape measure occasionally. Oddly enough conversley my tape measure falls off occasionally.

3 Year Review - Does exactly what it claims. Far better than clipping to pocket or belt.
Had this for 3 years. Used occasionally for handyman jobs first 2 years, 1-2 times/wk. Started renovating a house 11 months ago and using this pocket clip daily for tape, impact, and drill. It's well worn now, but still works exactly the same as the first day.I have returned to this page to purchase a second one to ride in my back right pocket so I can clip in an m12 fuel impact and an m12 fuel drill both on my right side without needing to rethread work pouches onto a belt or put on an extra 2lbs of work belt just to clip a couple tools on without destroying my pockets or regular belt.A few tips:1. Wire clips, like those on the Milwaukee Stud tape, clip in and out 2x as smoothly as the standard bent spring steel cheap clips. They also retain the tape better. I've used half a dozen different tapes on this clip from Komelon, Craftsman, Stanley, Dewalt, and Milwaukee... the wire clip style is notably superior. I recommend lightly bending out the spring steel clips so that they are slightly less aggressive in retention. This improves workflow since you will no longer fight with clipping in or out of the loop, but probably at the cost of being able to run & reliably retain your tape. If you want to work all day for many days in a row you shouldn't be running anyway, economy of motion is the name of the game and running is uneconomical.2. Retaining the loop in the pocket when unclipping a tape is based on friction. Type of pants and pocket material matter. Something like denim/canvas and similar thicker, slightly rough textured fabrics retain the pocket clip without any problem. Smoother fabrics with finer weaves as well as stretchy fabrics can have retention issues. Smooth fabrics rob the rough leather backer of the friction it needs to retain. Stretchy fabrics stretch considerably before the necessary force to pull the clip out of the loop is achieved, making the interaction feel sticky and annoying. Wear a durable pair of work pants made of denim or canvas-like material (semi-rough, somewhat stiff, thicker, like most work pants) and the problems some complained about the pocket clip pulling out will disappear.3. Remember you can reposition it in your pocket, switch it to other pockets, and slip it over your belt. When I need to carry other things in my pockets I like to move it to my belt or far right side of my back right pocket so it's not in the way of my front pocket.Improvement suggestion:A minimal pencil loop or pocket. Tape and pencil are almost always used together. Ability to put tape and pencil away right next to each other rather than in two separate motions improves economy of motion.Pencils bind, get bent, crushed, or the lead broken in front/rear pants pockets while sitting or crouching. Behind the ear and hat band retain pencils fine if you don't wear glasses, but interfere with glasses arm if you do. Shirt pocket works until you bend forward, then pencil falls out of most shirt pockets since they are very loose. All that's left for a glasses wearer is a dedicated pencil loop/pocket on a toolbelt/pocket clip, elastic headband (works okay for lightweight, small diameter pencils when it is hot and you're wearing it anyway, but limited reliability), or a cargo pant pocket (fine, but usually pocket is too low and requires a slight stoop to retrieve as well as a separate motion from retrieving tape to retrieve pencil.I want to be able to reach down, grab my tape and pencil at the same time in one hand and retrieve both. That saves seconds every time you do it and that's a motion I do hundreds of times a day. Easily adds up to 20-30 minutes of time saved per day by avoiding an extra 2 seconds retrieving the pencil from a separate spot from the tape when I almost always need both.
