the long journey of Captain America
Anyone who has ever wondered just how comics Captain America has been featured in will be in for a shock when they pick this book up.The Index goes all the way back to Cap's 1940s debut and goes all the way up to Steve Rogers' dramatic comeback as he leads the heroes against Norman Osborn in Siege. Along the way we get a breakdown of such storylines like the Secret Empire and how it caused Captain America to renounce his name and become a Nomad, Steve Rogers' search for the villain killer Scourge, the MANY deaths of Cap, and his Rebirth. This book is perfect for longtime Captain America fans and those who became fans after his movie debut last year

Bought for a gift
Bought as a gift, was not what i expected. This book reads like a catalog of every Cptn' comic issue out there. It was very wordy with small print with dime sized pictures of each comic cover. I was expecting something with more background on Cptn' and writers, artists, ect. I also expected more art as well. This is not a bad book, just not what i was expecting.

Very good indeed, but has a few errors
Very good indeed--an index that covers both the pre-Marvel and 1968-onward Captain America comics. In terms of overall scope, my only major complaint is the absence of the pre-1968 Marvel Comics-published solo adventures of Captain America that appeared in Tales of Suspense. In terms of layout, there should certainly have been page numbers.I also found a number of errors and problems here and there:1. The index entry for Captain America Comics #21 (December, 1942) lists as the neutral European nations in World War II Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. This list leaves out Ireland.2. The entry for Captain America #193 (January, 1976) states that that issue's story contained the final appearance in Marvel comics of Henry Kissinger. But Kissinger subsequently appeared in Super-Villain Team-Up issues #6 and #7 (June and August, 1976).3. The entry for Captain America #224 (August, 1978) states that that issue's story takes place during the events of issue #198. This is wrong. A footnote in #224 clearly dates it as after the stories that concluded in #223. Issue #224 is a sequel to the storyline of issues #193-#198; it is not concurrent with that storyline.4. The synopsis of Captain America #446 (December, 1995) relates some events in 1980's Super-Villain Team-Up #17; the latter should be referenced explicitly at this point.

A reference guide to the Captain America comic book series 1941-2010. NOT a comic book itself.
First off be advised - this is NOT a comic book. What you have here is a reference tool for the Captain America comic book series that covers literally every published issue of Captain America from 'Captain America Comics #1' (published in 1941) to Captain America #605 (published in 2010), including all annuals and numerous specials and mini-series which formed part of the characters main continuity. Each comic gets a seperate entry which is split up into the following sections:Image of the front cover of the issue'credits' (who wrote/illustrated it)'month/year' of publication'feature character''supporting cast''villains''other characters'Locations/items''Synopsis' (what happens in the story)'Notes' (which includes this such as commenty regarding continuity errors and other oddities)The book is a little over 300 pages, is published in a similar size to U.S comic book format, and also comes with a useful quick reference guide in the back which allows you to swiftly locate issues including whatever key element it is youre looking for, be that a certain character, location, weapon, team or storyline. The book is strictly for people who are dedicated fans of the Captain America comic book character, and will provide almost nothing for fans of the movies or animation. Its ideal for collectors, purists who want an encyclopedic knowledge of their favourite character, and those fans who may spend time discussing the character and his comics on or offline. As a piece of reference material it is a little stuffy (unlike many of the more user friendly but superficial character encyclopedias availible out there), but for those looking for the detailed facts about any specific issue of Captain America, it is without equal. My only real criticism would be that the book does not cover appearences by Captain America outside of his own series, original graphic novels, or numerous mini/maxi series (for example 'Captain America and the Falcon' or 'Captain America/Punisher: Blood and Glory to name just two), although admittedly this would be a massive undertaking and is perhaps not a reasonable expectation.

Me surpreendeu do melhor jeito
Adorei e recomendo!
