It is the best action camera on the market. It performs color correction automatically. It has an excellent battery, records in high definition and is built in a very robust way. Also It has excellent after-sales service and ready customer service

After frequently using and loving my Dive Camera+ for a number of years, I wanted more capability, so I bought a Vaquita and mask mount through Amazon. I was very surprised and disappointed when it arrived to see how much larger and heavier it was than the Dive Camera+. I was further surprised to discover the mask mount came with no instructions. I connected the Vaquita to the mask mount, attached the whole thing to my mask and put it on. One of the great things about the Dive Camera+ is that it’s mounted on the mask at eye level and very secure. The mask mount is so comfortable and the camera so light I never feel it while diving. None of the above can be said about the Vaquita. It’s now mounted above eye level, so there will be parallax problems trying to frame subjects. The mask mount is neither securely mounted to the mask nor is it comfortable. I returned the camera and mask mount for a full refund.

Video at 30 feet and below is better than GoPro 10. Above 30 feet it isn’t as good but still ok. Camera does have issues with freezing but you can power cycle when this happens by holding switch for 20 seconds and it resets. Overall still worth it, even though they have some kinks to still work out.

The camera with the hand grip is a must. The wrist strap is too light. Buy a better one. It takes a second or so to focus, so have the camera pointed at the subject before starting a video or picture. The video/picture mode is pretty neat. Just don't move the camera to quickly or take a picture while the subject is moving. It throws off the focus. Wait for the buzz to signal end of recording to switch away to the next topic. Now the bad news. The viewing area is pretty small so if you've got eyesight issues, it's pretty useless. Next, First time out and inside of the viewing cap/cover I found seepage. Unfortunately, the cover is required to add the micro-SD card and for charging. I think it's a great concept camera, but I'm not sure about the seals. I added the additional silicon lube to the o-rings as suggested, but after my first dive down to 77 feet, I found water seepage inside the cover. I'm not sure if the seepage came from the lock ring as I pulled it off to get at the SD card, or if it was seepage past the seal. They do send extra O-rings but after the electronics get wet, it's already to late to replace them. I would have added the max memory in to start with, added connectionless charging, and either a wirless or better blue tooth option so there is nothing to leak.

The camera is really user friendly, it feels like a flashlight in your hand and the vibrations allow you to know exactly what is happening. Pictures are great too. I am really pleased with the camera so far.

For scuba it may not matter but I bought the new version Vaquita camera and mask mount and gave a 'dry run'. The new mask mount however is terrible. Unlike the previous one it sits on a pedestal that along with increased weight of camera makes it unstable such that the camera is unstable. Simple 'walking' led to jiggling of video when I viewed it. Because of this poor mount design I had to return the whole camera. For scuba as I mentioned it probably won't matter but for spearfishing - free diving - I could not trust it. The old mount was in fact great so why they had to make the new camera incompatible with old mount not sure. I guess i am left with using the old camera until they realize this short-coming and fix it!!!

So far so good. Much better than the original. The price was right, hoping the camera last.

I have not yet taken this camera on a dive, but I have experimented with it while snorkeling. There are many things to like about it and some things that need to be improved. I like its compactness, ease of use, the dive profile overlay, and the myriad of camera settings available to fine tune the images. The extreme closeup clarity could be improved. Pictures and video are otherwise excellent in quality. The app needs some work. Despite a proper connection, my data will not transfer from the camera to the app. The app recognizes that there are images and videos on the camera, but they will not transfer. This is a minor inconvenience, but I would prefer to be able to transfer data without removing the SD card or plugging in the data cable. Likely a result of the same cause that is preventing transfer from the camera, the settings that I change on the app, that should update on the camera, do not transfer back to the camera. For example, I tried changing from Meters to Feet, and Celsius to Fahrenheit, but the camera would not update. Again, this is a minor inconvenience since these settings can be set on the camera itself. The camera kit comes with the camera, a cloth bag for the camera, wrist strap, charge/transfer cord, click mount, spare O-Rings and other spare parts, and a quick start manual. A more detailed manual is available on the Paralenz website. The camera is well made and appears to be rugged enough to take some abuse. I worry about the click mount since it is made of rubber, and only secures itself with the rubber strap end clipping onto a protrusion of the mount. I plan to fasten the wrist strap somehow as extra insurance against losing the camera to the deep. There is a Selector Ring (“ring”) that is used to select various modes, and an Activation Switch (“switch”) that is used essentially as an “enter” button, to choose options or to perform certain functions. I read a claim that you need to press a button of some sort, together with sliding the switch, in order to select options…this is not true. Only the switch is moved to make selections, there is no button. The End Cap, located opposite of the camera lens, can be removed to expose the USB-C charge port and the Micro SD card slot. The End Cap is held in place by tiny steel balls that engage a groove in the camera’s housing. The End Cap is sealed from water intrusion by three O-Rings. To remove the cap, you pull back on a Quick Connector Ring, which releases pressure on the steel balls, and at the same time pull back on the End Cap. It takes some force to remove. To reinsert the cap, you pull back on the Quick Connector Ring while pushing the End Cap into position, then release the Quick Connector Ring. The camera has an OLED display on the End Cap end of the camera housing. The display is quite good for such a tiny, tiny, screen. All of the menu wording is clear and easy to read, and the images displayed while in camera or video mode are decent. To operate the camera, you move the ring to the power mode, then pull back on the switch for four seconds to power on. Once on, you move the ring to one of the desired eight modes: power, still mode, video mode, one of two user programmed modes, settings, dive log, or location. When in still mode, each time you pull back on the switch a picture is taken. If you pull back and hold the switch, a video will be taken as long as you are holding the switch. In video mode, you pull back on the switch to start recording and pull back again to end recording. This camera has an awesome feature, DDC, or Depth Controlled Color, that should make it extremely easy to get great quality photos and videos. DDC uses a digital filter to automatically adjust the color of the images based on the color of the water and the depth of the camera. Couple that with its 4K video resolution, and this camera’s pictures and videos will be awesome. For those camera buffs who like to set up a camera to their liking, many of the camera’s settings, such as shutter speed, ISO, and white balance, can be set manually. The camera fits comfortably into the palm of the hand and is easy to operate even when wearing gloves. I really like the Auto Record feature, which starts video recording once a set depth is reached. The depths can be set for 2, 5, 10 or 20 feet. A unique option, if one wishes to participate, is the ability to share content with others to, as the manufacturer says: “inspire others and help save the Ocean.”

Having previously owned the previous paralenz model I was keen to try this one. The camera is lightweight yet well made. Easy to attach to helmet mounts and sturdy while under water. Gives a brilliant clear image. Would highly recommend.

Nach 2 Tauchgängen ließ sie sich nicht mehr ausschalten obwohl der Ring an der richtigen Position war. Trotz Aufladung lässt sie sich nun nicht mehr einschalten. Wenn man den Preis bedenkt. Absolute Frechheit

Fell I. Love with this when I saw it but afraid to say the camera does not leave up to the hype . Battery life is appalling , screen too tiny to usefully frame things , software extremely buggy and almost impossible to download videos at 4K ( even short ones ) and the camera repeatedly failed to stay on during dives , finally and crucially in my view the image stabilisation is not good at all . Would be better off with a go pro - cheaper , more reliable and better quality as well as being more versatile / I will be looking for a refund on this purchase.

Die Paralenz Vaquita Premium Tauchkamera. Ich könnte die Kamera durchaus trotz kleiner Schwierigkeiten empfehlen, stünde da nicht der hohe Preis im Weg. In einer durchaus hohen Preisklasse fallen nun mal selbst kleinere Probleme deutlich stärker ins Gewicht. Das ist schade den der Kamera Sensor und die Hardware Allgemein sind durchaus nicht zu verachten und würden einen hohen Preis erstmal rechtfertigen. Zunächst ein paar Vorteile, die 4K Aufnahmen sind durchaus zu gebrauchen. Bei geringerer Auflösung 1080P bis 720 P fällt die hohe Framerate bis 240 erfreulich auf. Das sorgt für Videos die flüssiger wirken. Allerdings setzt das voraus, dass die Aufnahme selbst möglichst stabil ist. Persönlich kann ich ab 120 FPS aber sowieso keinen Unterschied mehr Feststellen (liegt evtl. aber auch an meinem Monitor). Anfangs hatte ich in der Finalen Aufnahme etwas ruckeln und kleine Aussetzer festgestellt. Habe dann von einer No Name SD Karte zu einer San Disk Pro+ mit 128 GB gewechselt das hat meiner Meinung nach geholfen. Im Bereich 4K & 2,7K sind noch gute 60 FPS drin. Wirkt immer noch flüssig. Um rauszufinden ob die Kamera bei 350 m noch funktioniert muss man entweder den aktuellen Weltrekord brechen einen Druckanzug oder eine Druckkammer verwenden, ich glaube das dem Hersteller daher einfach mal und wäre mit einem Bruchteil davon mehr als zufrieden. Nett ist auch, dass man ein paar Ersatzteile dazu bekommt. Also Federn, Dichtringe, der Schalter usw. Das GPS und der Tauchlog sind nett, aber meiner Meinung nach ist da nur die Tiefe interessant. Der Rest ist „Nice to have“ aber ob man jetzt seine Route zurückverfolgen muss, muss jeder für sich wissen. Ist evtl. etwas für professionelle Unterwasser Filmer. Der durchaus fortschrittliche DCC also die Farbkorrektur funktioniert von 0-25, damit mehr als genug. Ab dann wird es ja eh dunkel. Die Videos werden auch zusätzlich in geringer Qualität gespeichert. Das Hilft wenn man mehrere große Dateien durchsehn will und das laden der hoch auflösenden Aufnahmen sonst (je nach PC) zu lange dauert. Ich spielte mit dem Gedanken mir den Seadragon 3000F für den nächsten Urlaub zu besorgen, das ist eine Halterung mit Lampe. Aber wenn ich mir den Preis ansehe tut es wahrscheinlich auch der normale Gripp und eine Tauchlampe. Habe mir den normalen Gripp noch nicht zugelegt, ich denke jedoch das lohnt sich für Stabilere Aufnahmen und besseres Handling. Einige Nachteile gibt es jedoch auch. Als ich das erste Mal die Endkappe lösen wollte, muss ich mehrmals die Anleitung lesen ob ich das auch richtig mache, da die Kappe einfach nicht abgehen wollte. Das gleich macht sie, wenn man sie eine Weile liegen lässt. Die Kappe geht nach dem ersten lösen dann einfach runter und drauf wie im Video, also da am Anfang nicht zu zärtlich dran gehen, wenn sie klemmt. Die Verpackung ist natürlich nicht so wichtig wie der Inhalt, wird aber in diesem Fall dem Ausdruck Premium Tauchkamera nicht gerecht. Bei dem Preis wäre kleiner Schaumstoff Koffer oder ähnliches angebrachter, als ein unschöner und ein Papp Karton und ein Stoff Säckchen. Die App konnte ich nicht zum laufen bringen. Wenn ich sie über Wlan verbinde und die App verwende möchte sie die Kamera Updaten. Das hat soweit ich weiß einmal funktioniert. Dann wollte sie nochmal updaten. Die App versucht es und die Kamera zeigt „Update failed“ an. (Ladekabel angeschlossen und SD Karte eingelegt). Habe es später noch einmal probiert jetzt verbindet sie sich nicht richtig mit der Kamera. User Error kann man nicht natürlich nicht 100% ausschließen aber jedenfalls war es mir nicht möglich Aufnahmen von der Kamera per Wifi auf mein Handy zu übertragen. Das wäre im Urlaub etwas ernüchternd, da man so auf einen Computer und einen SD Reader angewiesen ist. Man kann das Update auch per SD Karte installieren, ist man aber wie gesagt gerade unterwegs und die App muss erst updaten, wäre es natürlich gut wenn das funktioniert. Das Display ist wirklich mehr als grobe Orientierung zu sehen. Es ist sehr klein, es ruckelt und hängt manchmal hinter her. Das Wechseln zwischen Auto DCC und Auto WB (dafür 3 mal hintereinander den Schalter betätigen) funktioniert mal und mal nicht. Die Menü Führung allgemein ist auch nicht besonders Flüssig. Der Fokus funktioniert nicht im Nahbereich, schätze erst ab ca. 20-30 cm. Alles darunter ist verschwommen und unscharf. Das hat aber wohl mit der Linse und dem Fokus Point zu tun, damit auch in der Tiefe mit wenig Licht noch Aufnahmen entstehen können. Dennoch ist das etwas schade. Es sind 2000 mAh LiPo Akkus verbaut, bei korrekter Lagerung sollten sich LiPo Akkus nicht allzu schnell entladen. Die Vaquita entlädt sich aber sehr schnell, obwohl ich sie bei 75% Akku Ladung bei Zimmertemperatur aufbewahrt. Wollte sie nach ca. 2 Woche wieder einschalten, da war sie komplett entladen, das ist wirklich nicht gut. Bewahrt man die Kamera zu lange auf ohne sie zu laden, könnte die Akkus theoretisch und falls der Hersteller keinen Schutzmechanismus gegen Tiefenentladung verbaut hat beschädigt werden. Ob dagegen Vorkehrungen getroffen wurden lässt sich schwer sagen. Die Auflösung und Features machen im ganzen ein gute Tauchkamera, allerdings stören einige kleinere Dinge noch, die in der Summe dafür sorgen, dass die Kamera ihr Potential nicht ganz ausschöpfen kann. Die Hardware scheint eigentlich soweit ganz okay, allerdings find ich bei der Software besteht noch etwas Nachholbedarf.
