Ah, I'm so relieved this works
My external drive stopped being 'readable' by both my computer and my Xbox, which were reporting on screen that the signal was too weak. Enter this StarTech.com 3 ft. (0.9 m) USB 3.0 to Micro B Cable, and the connection is strong i.e. all is well! Forget the gaming, I was more concerned about how I would recover the files on the external drive. Thankfully, this is no longer a concern. Cable is very sturdy and secure! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Good quality cable
I bought this cable in a panic to replace the cable I thought I lost (but later found) that came with my USB 3.0 WD Passport hard drive. With that some comparisonsโฆThis StarTech cable is twice as thick as the WD cable, and about 5 inches shorter. Though the specs say 1 feet, it is actually about 13.5 inches measured from end to end. Contrast the WD cable that comes with the passport is about 18.5 inches. So yes, it's shorter than the WD cable. It's light blue, whereas the WD is black.Speed wise (both are USB 3.0 cables) I canโt say there is any difference, โmaybeโ, and thatโsโ a weak maybe, the StarTech is slightly faster. This is the eyeball test as Iโve not run any comparison benchmarks.Build quality on this cable appears to be pretty good and I had no fitting issues. Connections were snug and tight.Wishesโฆ It was a tad thinner; black.Bottom line: if you need a short replacement, or spare cable, this would do you well. Youโll just have to break it in as it is a bit thick. Recommended.5 Stars.

Quality cables with reliable Micro-B USB 3.0 Connectors
After having problems with cheaper cables that had intermittent connections that would disconnect/ unmount the USB 3.0 hard drives causing file corruption this cable was what I needed. The connections are solid and have never dropped out even if the cables were vigorously moved about in the receptacles to ensue reliable connections. The plugs fit snugly into the receptacles so they stay connected even with jostling of adjacent cables on a 7-Port USB 3.0 hub.The shorter length makes for a clean and uncluttered installation. The cables are thicker and less flexible than those that came with my Seagate drives, but they have been great for desktop use. The original (and longer) cables are set aside for use when traveling.A life-time warranty comes with the cable, but I can't envision using it. Although more expensive than others, in this case you get what you pay for. This is a brand of cable I'd buy again.

3 Feet of Perfect
I have absolutely no clue why there are any reviews less than five stars on this product. I think it's a case of stingy star-givers.The 3ft StarTech Black SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Cable (A to Micro B) is by far an extremely sturdy cable. This is a good thing because I have a tendency to ruin cables while travelling by rolling them incorrectly. The cable is very strong and it's rigidity means it will likely outlast most of my other cables. Well built and does everything it advertises. Works flawlessly with my WD Passport (portable HDD) and the speed between the transfer speeds are great! I can move giant files with the same speed as moving between internal drives. Have used it between three different computers (2 PCs and a Laptop) with no issues. If you're getting a 3 foot cable, definitely get this one.

Great product
The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Cable A to Micro B - 30cm USB 3 to Micro B Cord was perfect and reduced the cord clutter on my desk. The cable is well made and works very well โ the last cable it replaced failed in under a year.

Works fine - (In spite of....
... my observation I made in the "Customer Discussions" that the USB 3.0 connector is shown backwards (mirror imaged) in Amazon's picture of this cable.)Fortunately it was a proper connector when I received it and it works perfectly! It is very well made and the connectors fit perfectly at both ends. - So I gave it 5 stars and ignored the bad picture in rating it.Actually it is the manufacturer's site that has the (mirror imaged) picture wrong and Amazon must have merely used that one.But the other on-line vendors of this same cable must have noticed what I did and made the photo correct.

outer jacket cracked after 3 months
I've been using this cable with a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex for the past 3 months with no problems with the physical connection or data transfer. However, I've been carrying it in a small case with the drive, and the outer jacket is rather stiff, which makes putting it in the case slightly more difficult and stressful for the cable. As of this morning the outer jacket has cracked, exposing the internal shielding. This cable is sturdy and should work fine if you leave it in one place and don't move it around very much, but if you're planning on flexing it regularly, I'd suggest looking for a different cable.

Cool Cable.
Just a short cable to power up your devices.I use it on a regular basis to charge my Galaxy 5 from my newly purchased solar panel power bank. I find that this cable is just the right length to keep my charger & phone in close proximity to each other, while charging from the solar charger. This ensures that I don't have a long trailing cable to get tangled up in.One end is a standard USB "A" (the normal full size), and the other end is the newish USB 3.0, which is present on many of the newer devices. The USB 3.0 allows faster charging because it is effectively 2 small USB ports. For fast charging from USB A - USB 3.0, this is the cable you need.

1 Feet = 1.5 metres ?
I wanted a short lead to connect a Toshiba external Hard drive to my PC. The drive comes with a very short lead but for convenience I want another one as well. I firstly bought a 1.5m lead from my local Electronics store, but that wouldn't supply enough power for the hard drive to work. (Presumably too much voltage drop in the cable). So I ordered this lead from Amazon hoping that "1 feet" = "1 Foot". It didn't ! The lead was 1.5m long and like the lead from the local electronics store it wouldn't power the external hard disc. The lead is nicely made & I'll keep it for other uses. However I'm still looking for a short USB 3 cable.

1 foot long USB3 lead
Just the job.The lead IS one foot long stated in the ad, and very handy for keeping the desk tidy without tangles of wire all over the place. Its also easier to pop into my travel case for charger/wires, and it does not get tangled around everything else as the longer wires do. Obviously longer wires will come in useful at times as well, but I shall normally leaving them at home from now on. I only ordered one as one of the older reviews says it was longer, bur, now I now it really is 1' long I shall be ordering more as soon as I get home. Its also a nice blue cover, helping to identify it in the bottom of the bag.Great stuff.

StarTech (3 foot) Superspeed USB 3 cable
There's not much I can say about this ... it's just a cable after all and once plugged in you obviously tend to forget about it. All I can say is that it works, and works well, and I have noticed the definite speed increase (that's using USB 3 over USB 2). The cable build is quite sturdy and should last quite some time. Will be purchasing another two or three of these cables soon when I get another PC and some further external HDD's.

Replacement cable
StarTech 3 feet SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Cable A to Micro B - M/M - BlackIt was a replacement cable for a WD External HDD that had been chewed by a dog.The original was about 9 inches long (20.3cm). It would have been nice to get a shorter, slightly lighter cable, but at least it got the HDD running again. This may be of interest to the supplier whose service and pricing was very good.
