I can not every see water penetrating unless it gets accidentally cut or something like that.Note to anyone that wants to try it, very sticky as the temperature goes up and got to point that it was difficult to get the backing off, so we moved roll into A/C home until time to cut an apply. Once you get use to getting first section on and rolled it was very easy to stretch, remove 2nd backing and roll into place. Only downfall is it is expensive and best to just buy in 75 foot section if you plan on installing more windows.
