Will this work for the outlets that are recessed into the wall in Europe?

Sure. that is why it is called international universal. I bought this for Europe travel. Did a good job.

Will this work in Columbia?

Colombia in South America has the same as US outlets. Unless you’re talking about Columbia in North America in which case it also has US Outlets. But this adapter will work

I am a bit confused. i understand it will work in egypt. then someone mentioned it does not work in egypt. because of the recessed outlets. answer?

Yes you can use it in any country. As long as you attach it to an adapter that fits the plug on the wall. Find out what type of adapter is required in Egypt or any country you are going. Plugs have different holes in the wall.

Will this work in thailand?

Yes. But beware: Thailand uses US-style electrical outlets but runs 220v through them -not the 110v the U.S. uses. So you can plug a US device with a US plug directly into Thai outlets without using this device but only if your device is rated for variable input of 110-220v. If it's only rated for 110v, don't plug it into a Thai outlet without a 220v -> 110v transformer or you'll immediately burn out your device.
