Good Alternative for Filtrete Air Filters
I have ordered these a few times and come back to these as they are a quality product at a reasonable price. I like to buy the 6-pack as it is more economical and a good idea to have extras on hand. I usually write the current date on the filter when I install it and make a note in my calendar so I can remember to replace it when needed. Conduct research to determine which MERV rating is best suited for your specific situation, as this affects airflow. Overall, the filters are sturdy, fit well, and are easy to install.

A highly efficient home HVAC filter that pulled a lot of grunge from my system ...
The MERV factor was what I was looking for in this particular filter. Iโd tried out another brand, with a MERV factor of 13, but am equally satisfied with the Nordic Pure brand. Iโd read a lot of reviews on a variety of filters and these appeared to be reliable and effective. I decided to try them out to see for myself just how good they were. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, something that tells me exactly how efficient a filter is. Weโd been using some inexpensive ones much lower MERV factor (some as low as 6), but because of the dust in this house I wanted something even more efficient. The Nordic Pure are MERV 12, one number short of the highest MERV that a household would use. Anything higher usually is used in an industrial or hospital setting. I want to eliminate as many allergens as I can from our duct system. Dirt, pollen, allergens, dust, and on and on. The usual recommend on replacing a filter is two or three months, but the Nordic Pure, as did the other ones I used, are pulling out so much from my furnace system, I decided Iโll change them out once a month. Itโs a small price to pay for keeping a healthy household. I was surprised (or maybe I wasnโt) at just how much both brands of filters I used pulled out in a single month. I simply checked out the size of the filters we were already using (a must) and took a chance on ordering. Needless to say, Iโm really pleased with the quality and the function of the Nordic filters. At around six dollars a month, if I so choose to swap them out, itโs a bargain. I do have a lot of allergies, but since Iโve been using a filter with a higher MERV factor, I havenโt had as many issues.

Great, for the price (see details)! Recommended
I replace my air filters as directed by the fan timers in my thermostats, and considering I bulk buy my filters, it'd been a while since I'd last purchased any. Maybe it's that 3M is busy making masks, but I was surprised to see that the cost of my regular 3M Filtrete filters had skyrocketed. Given that, it was time to find an alternative. While the Nordic Pure 16x25x1 MERV 12 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filter (Box of 6) are not as nice as the Filtretes I'm used to, they are still well made. The filter frame, while cardboard, doesn't flex or collapse with a large negative pressure load. Even though the filter sizes are standard, I've found that the frame dimensions have some variation, from manufacturer to manufacturer... in this regard, Nordic Pure is a little smaller than what I'm used to, but I do think that everyone should be using take to seal up the sides anyway. What's the point of a nice filter, if you're just going to suck in garbage around the perimeter, right? As far as the filter goes, I'm happy with the performance. I'm used to 2200-2400 MPR, but went lower in this case. The filtration performance is a bit lower, but with the benefit of flow rate (which helps with the undersized unit at that side of the house). "Lower" performance is a relative declaration... the filters are still worlds better than all of the low to mid-tier ones that you'd get at a hardware store. Recommended. โค๏ธ If you found my review helpful, please let Amazon know by clicking the helpful button below

Cleaner, Cooler Air Thatโs Worth Every Penny
The Nordic Pure 16x25x1 Level 12 Air Filter has been a fantastic upgrade for my home! I can definitely tell a difference in the air quality the air feels cleaner, fresher, and even cooler throughout the house. I love having the peace of mind knowing my HVAC system is helping filter out more unwanted particles and keeping our indoor air feeling more comfortable. At first, the price was a little higher than basic filters Iโve used before, but itโs honestly worth the investment for the quality and the difference Iโve noticed. A cleaner home environment and better-feeling air make this filter a must-have. Iโll definitely continue using Nordic Pure!

Excellent filter and value
+ These filters have a metal pleat guides to keep the shape while in use + The filters for 16x20 have more pleats (22) than big box filters (17). More pleats is less resistance and more filtration. + You cannot beat the value for quality. + Shipping was very fast. Less than 24 hours in a non-1-day area. The question now becomes, is this filter going to fit? They are a bit smaller (1/4โ) than normal big box filters but they still fit in my plenum. Iโve taken plenty of pictures to show the differences and the opening to the exchanger is still covered. However, itโs important to note that you donโt want a 100% sealed system as that caused too much resistance and would shorten the life of the blower. The filterโs #1 job is to protect the blower and exchange from damage. With a higher MERV filter youโre also getting benefits for air quality but when building these systems HVAC installers are only concerned with debris in the ventilation. Also, to those complaining about the lack of print on the filters detailing the MERV rating thatโs unfounded as the package (box) they come in says what MERV rating and size they are. Think about this, whatโs from stopping the manufacturer from stamping a higher rating on the filter to begin with? This is an unfounded fear in my opinion. The box is clearly marked. Write the rating on yourself if you use different ratings in different seasons. One other mention, these do not reduce airflow for my system. If anything itโs a bit better than the big box FRP 7 filter it replaced. I just bought a years worth of excellent quality filters that normally run $20/ea for $33 for 6. Thatโs unbeatable and a no brainer frankly.

Great filters at a very reasonable price
I've recently heard a radio podcast that said Amazon is not always the cheapest for certain product areas so I've been much more dutiful at checking local store prices when I buy things that are generally universal. For this box of filters I couldn't find this brand in stores but I compared similar MERV ratings, which every store does differently but as comparable as possible. First most stores didn't have the same bulk package option, which was very nice to keep shipping down. Once I got up to a MERV/MPR/FPR/insert rating here above say 7-9 they almost all only came in singles or 2 packs. For those that were close to equally rated were filterete, honeywell, 3m and a store brand. That being said the cheapest price per filter in any of these brands at this level was ~9.97 + tax. These filters were of a higher quality and they were 7.28/filter with no tax or shipping (either smart post or Prime) so already you can see they are a better deal. I haven't had them for a while yet but since my house is fairly drafty I am planning on replacing these sooner than recommended at 60 days just so I can be sure I am getting good filtered air. Also before I didn't care much about filter quality, but I recently got married and my allergies have been worked to death due to my wife dusting all the time from my previous neglect and I wanted to try and stop the dust at the source. So far the filter in my HVAC has been working great and I've noticed my allergies have been less painful in the couple weeks we have been using it. I would most certainly recommend these filters for anyone looking to trade up from the cheap mesh ones into something that is cost effective and a great quality.

Significantly cheaper than competing retail stores. It is rated ...
Significantly cheaper than competing retail stores. It is rated as MERV 12 so will remove more harmful contaminates from your home compared to a lower MERV rating. This helps as the fiance and I both have dust allergies. However before you buy you should check the manufacturer instructions to see if your HVAC system is capable of running a MERV 12 filter. Youโll also have to change these filters more frequently than filters with a lower MERV rating due to the efficiency of capturing particulates.

Bought again...
I first bought a box of 6 and they were great. I change my filter every 3 months and these stay strong and do not bend or crumple over that time. Filtration is great. The air in my home is clean and fresh.

great value, highly recommended
Arrived quickly, filters came in a large cardboard box so they are all 100% in tact and able to store them that way, not addition. Read a lot about these, questionable if merv 11 or 12, but all in all for the price, one hell of a filter. Been running it for about 2 weeks now, old filter was filthy and AC wasn't pushing out much air, after 4-5 hours with these in, the air was noticeably cleaner, lighter. So compared to CT or HD and thier similar merv 11 or 12 filters, your paying less than half price, i don't think you can go wrong. Ill check it in a month and possibly replace in 2 months if very dirty, Will follow up if any problems.
