T5 LED Fluorescent Tube Lamp Holder Tombstone, Medium Bi-Pin Socket, Fluoresc...

Great deal on a quality product. I used these tombstones to retro-fit a 4 bulb shop light with T8 LED bulbs. For one-sided LED bulbs, you need these non-shunted tombstones. With LED bulbs, you need to remove the ballast. You simply power each side of the tombstone (see photos) with hot and neutral (black and white). Then you can connect them in series. It was very easy. I used extra wire from the ballast I removed. These were the type I needed to snap back into place in the shop light. All the power wires are on one side, where nothing is connected to the other side of the LED bulb. They are just there to hold the bulb in place. These were exactly the size I needed, and they all worked perfectly. No issue with this product.

Arrived on time and working great.

Used to replace old T5 bi-pin sockets in overhead, enclosed bathroom vanity fixture. The housing isn't made of the heaviest plastic but the spring loaded wire contacts are secure and the contacts for the lamp pins felt solid. I hope they hold up for a while because it's a chore to get up into the recessed overhead lighting box to do any work outside of replacing lamps. I didn't expect the highest quality sockets based on the price but seeing how all the contacts were solid, I really cant complain. Just knocking of 1 star due to the light gauge material, especially at the mounting foot/tab area.

I just got a case of T8 type B Ballast bypass led bulbs that I wanted to use to light up A Covered Patio that is darker than the bilge under Hell's Engine room. I Just used A 2''x6''x10' metal stud cut in half. this left me enough stock to make the end caps after cutting the slots for these tombstones. It took about 45 min. to make 4 custom 2 bulb fixtures for under 20 Quid.

I have converted three 4-foot T12 fluorescent fixtures now using these tombstones, and replaced the old fluorescent bulbs with 18 watt Hyperikon 4000K T8 LED light tubes (see my 5-star rating of those ). The lights now come on at full brightness in my unheated shop, and I don't have to worry about changing light tubes for years.

You can't really tell from the product pictures but these are cheap knock-offs attempting to pass as industry standard (eg: Etlin Daniels FL005-W polycarbonate) holders. Worse is the back closure does not lock to the body but is rather just a press fit. And if your wire is a tad too long it will unseat the back. Worst is the cheap (at best) spring brass finger contacts will fatigue when an 18AWG wire is inserted and not spring back to original position/tension. JUNK and a FIRE HAZARD.

Worked well as a replacement solution and to convert from ballast to LED. Had wire port connection from bottom. Used existing solid wire 18 awg from fixture, no problem.

the only thing i have found is the back covers, some come apart in hand they don't stay locked together.
