## Description

Simple to read, simple to use, and affordable, the WS-10-X4 (ws-10) includes an indoor thermo-hygrometer inside the console, and four remote thermometer-hygrometer sensors (f007th), which are all displayed at the same time. The display console can remotely read and update up to eight remote thermo-hygrometer sensors. The console includes audible and visual alarms when temperature and humidity exceed your pre-set minimum and maximum alarm settings. The WS-10-X4 includes four remote thermometer-hygrometers, and four additional sensors can be added (f007th, f007tp, f007t, f007pf) for comprehensive monitoring. The console displays temperature and humidity, minimum and maximum temperature and humidity, which can be manually reset. The scroll mode allows you to view the indoor thermometer-hygrometer and channels 4 through 8 without pressing any buttons. In scroll mode, all of the indoor and detected outdoor sensors will be displayed in five second intervals. Each remote sensor includes Dip switches for channel selection and units of measure (degf Vs degc). the sensor search mode allows you to re-sync sensors without removing and re-inserting batteries.

Review: Accurate, easy to set up, works great - I've had this for a couple days and so far I love it. Setup was very straightforward and it's working great. During setup, all the remote sensors and the base unit were reading the same temp and humidity. Once I placed the remote sensors where I wanted them I had to do a little calibration (I used a Kestryll) but it wasn't a big deal. Since calibration they've been very consistent with the readings I get on my Kestryll. A few notes: - The remote sensors already had the DIP switches set up, which was a nice touch. - The manual says not to use rechargeable batteries, but I think that's overkill except for outdoor sensors in very cold climates. For those, use alkalines. For indoor sensors and for the base unit, rechargeables are fine. I use Eneloops or desertcart Basics rechargeables. - It helps to let the sensors acclimate for 5-10 minutes before making any judgements about whether they're all consistent. Out of the box I had one that was reading 5 degrees above the others, but after a few minutes they were all within a few tenths of each other. - The display on the remote sensor shows which number it's set to (i.e., 1-8) so you don't get them mixed up. - The calibrated temp and humidity are only shown on the base unit. The sensors show the unadjusted temp and humidity. For example if you've got a +2 degree adjustment on a sensor and the base unit is show 62 degrees, then the sensor will show 60. The only two suggestions I'd make for improvement are: - Use soft-touch buttons on the base unit rather than the hard, clicky buttons. - The base unit's screen could use a little more contrast, especially since it's not backlit.

We use it to measure temp/hum in our garage, inside two dog kennels in the garage and in our heated doghouse out in the yard. The main unit is inside the middle of the house and is about 60ft away from the farthest remote that’s in the yard kennel. It has no problem maintaining contact. I do also like the flexibility they built in to let the user determine how they want the 4th remote set up: you can set it to alternate between the main unit (so in our case the house temperature) and the 4th remote. But you can also set it to just show the main unit or just the 4th remote (we set it for this last option). I want to compliment the manufacturer for building in this option because too often nowadays we’re dictated by software programmers working in their little cubical how to use our stuff... The only point for improving I can think of is to make it a bit easier to differentiate between temp and humidity. The display has nice large numbers but they are the same size and shape for both temp and humidity . Maybe make the humidity a little but smaller?

**Q: Will it work if mointors are on 4 different floors of a building ?**
A: I could not get then to work on one floor. One sensor kept spiking over 200 degrees. Made me think there was a fire at first. JUNK!

**Q: Do the sensor readings actually match when you put the sensors next to each other?**
A: They will not match perfectly because every sensor has a margin of error. The error margins are published on the product page.

**Q: Can this be used to monitor refrigerators & freezers?**
A: Yes, unless they are a metal box. Wireless or RF signals cannot pass through metal.

I've had this for a couple days and so far I love it. Setup was very straightforward and it's working great. During setup, all the remote sensors and the base unit were reading the same temp and humidity. Once I placed the remote sensors where I wanted them I had to do a little calibration (I used a Kestryll) but it wasn't a big deal. Since calibration they've been very consistent with the readings I get on my Kestryll. A few notes: - The remote sensors already had the DIP switches set up, which was a nice touch. - The manual says not to use rechargeable batteries, but I think that's overkill except for outdoor sensors in very cold climates. For those, use alkalines. For indoor sensors and for the base unit, rechargeables are fine. Whether you're like me making decisions about passive cooling in your home, or just curious what the temperature is in different places in, around or outside your home, the Ambient Weather Station has you covered. The radio sensors work really well and have a great range. I made wooden mounts for them so I know they're reading the Air temperature rather how warm the walls are. Easy to set up, easy to configure and all of the sensors connected right away after I plugged the batteries in the Weather Station. One thing I wish - I know it would shorten battery life, though a backlit screen would be amazing. It is hard to read in low-light.
