Great on it's own or combined with a cream.
I have been wet shaving for about 20 years and like to try out different products from time to time. If I had a bias when trying this product it was probably negative as I really didn't expect much. I followed my normal pre-shave routine, then put 8 drops in my palm, rubbed my palms together and applied the oil to my damp face. It's not really that visible but you can tell where you are getting coverage. With a fresh Derby blade the cushion and glide was fantastic. From the lack of drag I figured there may not have been much cutting going on. After finishing my traditional with the grain pass I was surprised to feel my face and realize it was already a very close, very good shave. For an average day or if in a hurry I would have been happy to stop right there without any further passes. I had also ordered some Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated Shaving Cream and was anxious to try that. I already had my brush soaking. I re-wet my face and could still feel plenty of oil remaining. I face lathered the cream on my face, over the oil and was rewarded with a shave that can only be described as luxurious. No matter what type of razor you use I believe the shaving oil on it's own could work very, very well for quite a few people. It rinses off easily and doesn't clog the razor like some other oils. For me, if I'm in a hurry or just need a good everyday shave I will have no problem using this oil on it's own. It's also a great size to travel with. For days I want a baby butt smooth shave I will either do two or three passes with just this oil, but more likely will use it in conjunction with a quality cream like the Caffeinated cream for a really nice, really smooth shave. If you are reading this and haven't tried traditional/wet shaving I urge you to give it a try. A quality double edge safety razor can be purchased on Amazon for an extremely reasonable price for something that will last generations. And say good bye to the gimmicky blade cartridge dujour. Quality double edge blades like Derby's can be purchased on Amazon for around $15 for 200. If you used a fresh blade for every shave the savings over cartridges would still be significant, and with good products such as this one you can also enjoy a superior shave that is easier on your skin.

Excellent Oil for Electric Wet Shaving
Pacific Shaving Company's "All Natural Shaving Oil" is an amazing high-quality product. I use it as a "lather" to shave with my electric razor and it is the only product I have found that does not irritate my skin. Here are the top 3 reasons I recommend this product: 1) It has no alcohol in it. So it is less likely to irritate your skin. And if for some reason you do have a cut, this will not cause it to burn and turn red - it will probably soothe it. 2) It helps your razor to glide and be smooth. I use from 5 - 10 drops each morning for my whole face, and I never get cuts from using this in combination with my electric razor - the cuts just don't happen because the oil is so slick. 3) It has a very very light smell of citrus - but that is all. It does not smell like strong chemicals or alcohol. The citrus smell is so light that it does not linger for more than a few minutes as far as I can tell. This is a great product - and I have tried many, including some of the more expensive ones. This one is cheap - it lasts forever, it has a very light but pleasant citrus smell, and it doesn't irritate my skin. Also - if you are worried about this oil clogging up the blades in your electric razor - this has never happened to me. As long as you follow the regular cleaning instructions for your razor you will be fine. *** - - - In Conclusion - - - *** The whole shaving industry is basically a rip-off: big companies trying to get every dollar they can from every poor guy that has to get up in the morning and go to work and shave his face. But this product is a complete anomaly from that. It is good to know that at least one company out there still wants to make good products at good prices. I highly recommend Pacific Shaving Company's Oil!

Works well
This is a good quality product. All natural ingredients. Not thick, and no residue like some other pre shave oils. It is a little expensive when you look at the price per ounce, but it doesn’t take much.

Can stand on its own for a minimal shave but really shines when adding to a full routine
Wanting to improve the quality of my shave routine, after doing some research, I decided to pick up this small bottle of shaving oil due to good reviews. Overall, I'm very pleased. the scent is a nice, subtle citrus smell that doesn't linger, and a little of the oil goes a long way. I tried to use the oil in two very different scenarios: 1. First I tried it on an ideal shave - fresh out of the shower, applied pre-shave and set as I whipped up some shaving cream with a badger brush. I was hoping it would ease up on the roughness on my third pass, against the grain - it didn't really help much here but what I did notice was at the end - It's not uncommon to have a little minor cut here and there since I shave with a DE and am not particularly careful. After the shave with this oil however my skin was practically unscathed - when applying an alcohol-based aftershave I got no burn whatsoever - that's a first! 2. I wanted to see how well it would perform under more extreme circumstances. No shower, simply splashed a little hot water on my face and applied oil. Waited a couple minutes and shaved with just the oil, wetting my face once after each pass. It was a little rougher, but was left with a very serviceable shave. The tiny bottle would be a great compact option for short trips when you need to do a quick maintenance shave or two. The oil would likely stand on its own for those who have thinner beards or perhaps shaving other body parts (legs, head etc) as an easy replacement for foams/creams/soaps. In the end it does a great job of improving the quality of my shave - there's definitely a clear value to adding pre-shave oil to your routine, and it can also stand on its own as a substitute for shaving cream when necessary.

Not impressed
I bought this based on the ratings. Honestly, I'm not really impressed with this stuff. I like the smell, but that's about all. I actually switched to using virgin/unrefined coconut oil. You can get a big jar for nearly the same price as this tiny bottle of "shaving oil". It goes on a little thicker so there is no blade irritation. It washes away (somewhat) cleanly, doesn't clog my pores, and leaves your skin soft (in a man-ly way!). It also works great as hand/body lotion or a face moisturizer. The stuff is amazing. ...but this is not a review of the awesome aspects of coconut oil. I didn't feel this shaving oil was thick enough. As a matter of fact, my skin just seemed to absorb it. It felt like I would need to use a quarter of the bottle if I wanted to be able to lightly coat my face/neck. 6-8 drops would do nothing for me. I am, however, glad I bought this. It got me researching "shaving oils" and led me to using the coconut oil I had been cooking with. If you're thinking about buying this, try coconut oil instead.

Good for Sensitive Skin
I got it for my man and it worked great! I like all of these products because they work super well for his super sensitive skin. He has a new job so he doesn't need to shave anymore, but it was definitely worth it.

Great size for travel
Works well and size is perfect for travel for shaving. Smells nice. With it felt a little more oily/substantive when applying — it’s almost too light.

Goede scheerolie

Non-greasy, non-irritating, lubricating & slick when wet
A little goes a long way with this product! Depending on the size of the area of the body being shaved and your hair density, you may need to use more than the recommended 6-8 drops. Non-greasy, soothing/non-irritating, lubricating and becomes slick when wet. Really simplifies shaving when used alone. Apply, shave as usual and rinse/clean excess product. After-shave is optional in my opinion.

Good value
Nice shave oil, very mild scent, works alone or with shaving soap.

Waste of money.
It does nothing. Plain and simple.
