Great value and very good sound
I've had 5.1 surround systems before and this provides a very good quality sound for the price point. Setup was a dream, literally plug and play. The satellite speakers and subwoofer just worked without me having to do anything. Rear speakers power off one power cable with another one going between them. The bar comes with a template for drilling mounting holes in a wall, although I've not done that it is very nice to have. The balance between speakers is great and the subwoofer gives a good bass level. I've not had to put the volume above 25 (mostly it's around 20) which is about 1/3 of the way and the room fills with sound. The audio is crisp and clear, no buzzing or distortion. The input options are good. I used the ARC HDMI which allows me to control the sound from my TV remote but also means it switches on and off with the TV. Bluetooth connected first time to every (Android) phone I tried. It gives a good sound but the system seems better suited to video sources than just music. It's still way better than playing music through the TV or say a "smart" speaker but I wouldn't use this if I was only wanting it for music playback. There are better systems for that. The equaliser is pretty restricted to present options, including one called "AI" but is of course just meaning the system detects the channels being used and adapts as suited. It works well enough though. Movies and TV work well. I found the first half second of audio is clipped when you change channels (or if an advert plays) because it seems the audio switches from stereo to mono or AC3nandnthe sound system takes half a second to detect and switch to support it. It's not anything that largely interferes with my viewing or usage though. All in all, I'm really happy. It's not the perfect setup for high end music setups but it's great value and does a brilliant job for what I need.

Amazing for the money!
I got this as my Sony seemed to have an issue with the built in speaker on the right hand side. This was really easy to install, I was actually surprised how much things have moved on from the days of yore where you had to wire every speaker in your 5.1 across your room. I guess you still need power but one less cable. The subwoofer to my amazement was wireless! In terms of connectivity, I opted to use HDMI ARC. The experience is virtually plug and play. There is a delay when starting the TV, about 10 seconds as a voice tells you power on and then paired and connected. The device does not have a standby mode which your TV most likely does. After maybe 45min-1h the soundbar will disconnect from the TV. You need to manually restart it or restart the TV. Occasionally, it will says power on. I believe this is only common with OLED TVs like mine as they are never off and shortly after shutting it off a pixel refresh function begins. This might end up scaring you when your TV eventually does a long pixel refresh (depends on brand but could be once 2 months) and turns the speakers on in the middle of the night. The audio quality is excellent, it’s very bass heavy. I have the bass turned down but I also live in a flat. The treble is good enough, perhaps somewhat tinny but very good compared to built in speakers albeit broken in my case. The speakers are very loud, or rather not very linear in volume setting. In my case the system takes over the inbuilt one and the TV knows that. The remote even controls the “Sound System”, therefore it’s not possible to create a buffer on the volume by using the remote to reduce to source output. I’m sure it will be somewhere in the settings but I’m too lazy to check. As a result, my other working Sony can be up to 45 on certain movies. With these speakers I don’t go above 10. As such, with a louder source like Spotify I can often be on 2 or 3. At nighttime or when someone is sleeping even 1 seems slightly too loud. The size is very acceptable and of standard for this type of product I’d say. Just a long bar that’s wall mountable and a rather compact subwoofer. The materials are plastic but they look nice enough. Once set up you’d never touch it anyway. The “interface” consist of an LED through which you adjust certain EQ settings. This is fairly straightforward again but perhaps not very precise as the setting is translated through the brightness of the LED light. So not very precise. You need two 3 pin plug sockets as the subwoofer has its own power supply. This makes this slightly less versatile but certainly manageable. For the price you pay for this you can’t get better really. Nothing to complain about. I’d recommend this if you’re looking to improve sound quality of TV on a budget. It has won numerous award for best value for money soundbar too. Sure, you can get a £500 one but if it’s for a spare room etc there no need really. This is more than capable.

Good budget soundbar! 3.1 setup too!
Soundbars will never compete in audio quality with large and independent speakers situated around a room. However people buy soundbars because it's small, neat and tidy and is decent in sound, which is exactly what the Hisense HS3100 is, a great budget set up! Plus it's 3.1! The 3.1 set up features a soundbar with stereo speakers on the usual left and right, but also a centre speaker in the middle, allowing for better clarity in sound especially in speech. The subwoofer is wireless (except the power lead) it connects to the soundbar via Bluetooth. The sound from the subwoofer is powerful and fills a spacious room well, you can feel it, so much so I had to dial down the bass (-2 on bass and +2 on treble in movie mode) to prevent others from being annoyed and to be able to hear speech and sounds better. Soundbar also features a useful LED display that you can dim down or switch off altogether. Movies and music sound great, also has a night mode which dials bass and general sound down, just remember to apply the right preset depending on the content you're consuming. You can also individually control the bass and treble. All these controls are available one click away on the remote. The remote's buttons are not very visible because of its dark grey writing on a black remote, this should be designed better. The soundbar itself looks and feels cheaply made. But the worst is the included touch buttons on the soundbar (which don't always work) and can hardly be seen in a lit room let alone a dim one. Traditional tactile buttons are much better. None of these flaws are deal breakers though just minor inconveniences. Value for money! P.S. Remember to connect your soundbar via the included HDMI cable to the ARC/eARC HDMI port on your TV for the highest audio quality to pass through. Also if you find the bass is too powerful and speech and sounds are unclear on movie mode: then try putting bass down -2 and treble up +2 (or 3) for clearer speech and sounds, whilst still getting a wider dynamic range of sounds that movie mode usually allows, that includes some bass but not too powerful or weak.

Great sound quality and easy setup
Excellent soundbar for the price. The Dolby Atmos effect is impressive, the bass is powerful, and the overall sound is clear and immersive. Setup was quick and easy, and it works perfectly with my TV. Highly recommended!

Best soundbar I've ever owned
I chose the AX5100Q soundbar as I wanted rear speakers for watching TV in bed and this seemed a good choice at the price (around £180). It's far exceeded my expectations, it's a decent quality product and the sound is excellent especially the Atmos, I tend to watch more telly in the bedroom now. Connection was easy - my TV only has an ARC socket (not e-arc) but it worked just by plugging that soundbar into that socket, no configuration needed. When I go to Netflix not it recognises that I've got Atmos sound and switches automatically. Rear speakers have a wireless connection, power into one of the speakers, and a long wire to the other speaker. It just plugs in and works. It comes with a small remote for setting up various options but once it's configured you control it with your TV remote. I've left everything set to default and put the remote away. Very impressed with Hisense (I've got a fridge & dishwasher from them too), next time we have a new telly it will be Hisense, and possibly the bigger soundbar (AX5140?)

Wow Wow Wow !!!!!
For this price you can’t beat this product, I was blown away not only by the sound but by the careful though that has gone into the design, making it a great experience for the end user. I have done a few questions and answers here based on what I think people want to know, or certainly based on things I wanted to know 1. Is it easy to set up? Yes, I literally removed it from the packaging, plugged each component in and it all paired automatically -and instantly! 2. Can you dim the display? Yes, there is a button on the remote for dimming and even switching the display off completely. Fantastic. 3. Does it save settings? Yes, however you leave it when you switch it off is how it will be set when you switch it on, providing the soundbar isn’t unplugged at any time. 4. Does it have tone controls? Yes, it has various equaliser modes at the touch of a button, and has bass and treble controls on the remote. Fantastic. 5. Can you adjust the level to the rear? Yes, a bit hidden in the instructions but you can press and hold the surround button then increase or decrease the output level to the rear. This is useful to balance them according to distance. 6. Can you adjust sound sync if needed? Yes, it’s in the menu, I’ve not used it but it’s there. I’ve played music and movies and it’s always been synced perfectly so far. 7. Does it look good? Yes, sleek, minimalistic, no fuss, just a clean professional design with minimal branding and a quality finish. 8. Is the sound quality good? No. It’s fantastic. Seriously. It’s so good it’s a wonder how a system like this can be priced so competitively. 9. Should I buy one? Yes, go and buy one, there can be only one outcome, and that is total satisfaction.

Good enough sound for the price, but HDMI fault
Firstly, not entirely convinced that this was a 'new' product, despite being sold by Amazon as such. Box appeared to have several layers of previously cut tape holding it closed, batteries were already in the remote control, and the tape holding the speakers bags wasn't stuck down properly and had dirt / dust stuck to it. Either Hisense really skimp on the packaging or a used one found its way to me? Regardless, set it up which was quick and easy, speakers already paired to soundbar. Sound certainly good enough for the price, although not as mind blowing as reviews suggested, and a bit bass light despite the solid feeling subwoofer. Was happy enough with it until I started using the HDMI in on it with an Xbox Series X so I could try out the Dolby Atmos (which doesn't work over ARC so has to be plugged straight into the soundbar. Impressive surround (if a bit weak bass as above), but found that after an hour or so of playing, the video from the Xbox dropped out several times for a second or so each time. Audio carried on uninterrupted, but black screen whenever this happened. I've put in many multi hour gaming sessions on this Xbox, both through my old LG AVR (sadly departed!) and directly plugged into the TV, never seen these drop outs before. Plugged the XBox directly back into the TV to test and played the same game from the same point for a few more hours non-stop with no video drop outs. As this only happened when playing through the soundbar sockets, can only assume fault with the soundbar. Also found it slow to respond to volume up/down on the remote, on one occasion seemingly either getting stuck or lagging and continuing to change volume for a few seconds after I had released the button. For the price, not bad sound and I probably would have gotten used to the remote lag and 'thin' sound, but the video dropout is a deal breaker. Can't get Dolby Atmos without HDMI into the bar, can't accept the image cutting out which that resulted in.

Great sound at a bargain price
Okay, first off, I AM an audiophile, but I am an audiophile with a budget, and while I love the sound that is produced by high-end speakers, I just can't afford it. I heard music from my brother-in-law's Amazon Echo Studio, and I loved the sound that came from it. After doing a bit of research, I stumbled across this that promised a much richer experience than the Echo Studio, so I bit the bullet and purchased the HS3100. I've got to say I am extremely pleased with the quality of sound. The bass is superb. I do like my bass, and there is a good, immersive feeling about the bass. You can always dial this down, of course, using the remote, but it's silky, creamy and smooth. The vocals come across with great clarity as well, and when using with the TV, there is a good separation of the music and the speech. For the price, this is hard to beat.
