I have used this product in the pool a few times and my hair feels softer. I wet my hair and then rinse it out a little and then put hair in a swim cap. It protects hair as much as it can from Chlorine damage. It does not have a crazy smell. Give it a try...anything to save your hair

I feel like I won the grand prize! 6 full-sized- full-sized- bottles of fabulous Aqua Guard products for $51. I had already been using the pre-swim conditioner and absolutely love it. So many products promise this, that, and the other and don't really make much difference. But Aqua Guard products do their job. For reference my hair is thick, wavy/curly, blonde/white and I regularly (twice/month) use colored conditioner to keep my hair toned, not brassy. I use heat. My hair tends to be dry, but is healthy overall, and I want it to stay that way. I do pool aerobics and swim four times/week, I'm in California so in the pool, sun, wind year-round. Aqua Guard products are the blessing that helps keep my hair and skin healthy. All are very lightly and pleasantly scented, I've had no problems with pumps or bottles and consistency of all products I've used is really nice. Reef safe, no animal testing. I’m a swim instructor and spend anywhere from 3-5 hours in the water on a daily basis. Most our pools are about 88 degrees and none of them have on site showers. I drive about 13-30 minutes until I can get to a shower. Aqua guard and I have a love hate relationship. The first time I used this I put it in like 2 minutes before I got in the pool and slathered it on. It smelled amazing and did stay in my hair all through the shift. But when it came time to shower it wouldn’t come out. It stayed in my hair making it crunchy and super tangled. I don’t like to give up on products so I did some research and experimentation and here’s what I found.1. It doesn’t matter if it goes in your hair wet or dry. 2. Put it on like 5 minutes before going in the pool. That gives it time to absorb 3. Think of it like a top coat for your hair you want enough for it to coat it but not enough that you see super thick deposits in your hair. 4. You HAVE to use a special chlorine removing shampoo to get it out (I tried a normal clarifying shampoo and it failed so look for swim specific I buy a 3 in 1 product and it works great although sometimes I do have to wash 2 times) 5. If you have warm water it’s best to rise your hair in that right after swimming and try not to let it dry in your hair or sit in it for a long time. ( I will say that I can actually let it sit in my hair for a bit like 1-2 hours if I rinse my hair in super warm sink water before leaving)Following all the above rules it works beautifully my hair is the softest it’s ever been and while there is some chlorine damage from my failed uses I haven’t seen any damage beyond that. I even had some curls one day. I usually braid my hair and due to being an instructor and working with kids I don’t wear a swim cap and I’m really happy with the condition of my hair. Plus it smells so good for everyone wondering the smell is a sweet almond smell due to the almond oil in it. I just ran out (this sized bottle lasted me about a month) and have the huge bottle on the way

I’ve been using this on my daughter’s hair before she goes into the pool (about 3x a week in a chlorinated pool). It looks kind of greasy when you put it on dry hair but it keeps her hair very soft amd protects it from the chlorine and it doesn’t leave a residue after washing with shampoo. Will repurchase all summer!

I have been a swimmer my whole life and how I just now came across this brand is beyond me!! My hair was so soft right out of the pool and the shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel so clean!!! None of the crunch hair from the salt or the chlorine firmness. Simple its an amazing product!!!! Will for sure be ordering more and check out the rest of the line!!! 10/10 !!!

We went to Aulani a few years back and while we were there the water dryer out our hair and it just was really hard on the hair. So the next year we were blessed to be able to go again and we got this product and it worked great. It help our hair stay healthy. We use it all the time now, when we go to water parks, community pool and family/friends pools. Good value. We have been buying this for over 2 years.

I bought this for my daughter who is on a swim team. Not sure it did much, if anything it seemed to just built up on her hair and didn’t wash out well. She wears a swim cap, so I’m not sure if that makes a difference. Smell is great and the value for the money is good. Might work better if you wear it without a swim cap?

I purchased the shampoo, conditioner and detangler. I love them all. I alternate them with my shampoo for my highlighted hair. It does not strip color! The products also smell nice, especially the detangler! I will continue to purchase these items.
