Not so good. The product smells fine to me. I had my wife smell it since she’s sensitive to scents and perfumes. I told her it was supposed to be cardamom and patchouli but she didn’t pick up on the cardamom at all. The list of ingredients on the box are staggering. Many more than alluded to. The description on Amazon says castor oil is an ingredient but the packaging states it is hydrogenated castor oil. I didn’t even put my finger in it after this first impression.My overall impression is that this product is a highly commercialized and mass produced by the cheapest means necessary. I care for my scalp, skin and general health. I’m not impressed with this product’s ingredients and will be returning. Jack Henry has a much more natural product that has served me well but I was looking for a little more for a little less. Perhaps that’s not the best approach. Best of luck.

This is hands down the best extreme hold hair clay I’ve ever tried! I’ve been through countless hair clay labeled “high hold” or “extreme hold” and they all failed. Most were oily or just didn’t hold at all. Yes it is more dense and thick but that makes it “extreme hold!” Use a pea size amount, or more if you have more hair…. Rub the paste together with both hands staying in the fingers area. The paste will become malleable from the warmth of your hands then run it through your hair from front to back. I love this stuff! I finally found the one that works! The picture included was taken after I woke up the day after first use….

I have really thick hair and have struggled to find a good product that lasts throughout the day. This stuff has been the best thing I’ve found so far for keeping my hair intact throughout the day. Like some of the other reviews, this clay is rather hard but I just run it under my hair dryer for a few seconds and it softens it up pretty well.

Been using this for years and it works. Smells good too. It adds volume to my hair.

The first thing I noticed is that this product is so solid, you will STRUGGLE to get it out of the container. I had to push and scrape so much just to get a small glob, and then you have to work it into your hands until it’s invisible or it will leave huge chunks throughout your hair. It makes my hair incredibly thick but it is anything but “naturally matte” like they say. My hair looks and feels super wet and greasy no matter how much I work the products into my roots. 10/10 for all day hold, 0/10 for the workable matte texture I like. I will not be purchasing again.

Man does this stuff make your hair do whatever you want. The answer is yes it does. The only drawback is you have to damp the product very slightly with water so you can rub it in your hands and when you get it in your hair you can get it to do anything. Your hair is slightly stiff once the product is in but it definitely lasts all day

It does hold my hair really well, the texture is insane, but i dont know why the one i received is hard like concrete, is super hard to put on your hair and wash it off.

I just bought 10 more of these in case the formula changes in the future. If any of the Forte workers are reading, PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING WITH THE FORMULA!!! I will buy this for life and recommend to others if nothing changes! Great product- I was looking for something to replace Kevin Murphy Night Rider because Kevin Murphy had changed their product so that hold was lacking and it was no longer really matte. This product is great- holds all day, makes my fine hair look more full, truly matte finish. I am an east Asian guy so my hair is straight FYI. Yes it's a tiny bit stiff and difficult to remove from the container but I think it's just how things go if you want to have a product that really keeps your hair in place all day without falling. I'm buying the product for the hold and look, not for a very tiny inconvenience of pressing a little harder to get it out of the container. Doesn't really smell like anything to me. Hold is stronger than Hanz de Fuko Claymation, this is more matte, and it doesn't make your hair clump up as much. Doesn't really look like you have any product in your hair either, if you use the right amount. Claymation isn't bad but this is better. AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T CHANGE! Oh god I'm so sick of companies changing their hair products and then I need to search for new ones hahah.
