This can opener was worth the money. I paid $10 for an opener that barely worked. When I read the reviews I decided to buy this one. It has a nice padded “turner” and was easy to use. It really works well.

Very good opener. Smooth. 4 stars not 5 because the handle is not glued on very well. Easy fix though.

I bought the OXO Good Grips Soft‑Handled Manual Can Opener for my mom, who has severe arthritis in her hands. She usually struggles with regular can openers, but this one is very easy for her to use. The soft handles are comfortable and the large knob turns smoothly with minimal effort. It’s made opening cans much easier for her. Great product.

1st off, it works fine. We've had our original OXO opener for probably 20+ years, the cutter was starting to dull, so we bought another OXO opener. See the picture for comparison. The opener on the right is the original and the left is the new one. The design is different so its hard to say if things are improved or otherwise. The cutting wheel and griper wheel look the same, while the pivot point is different.

This is the best can-opener I’ve ever used. It’s a pleasure to open cans with absolutely no problems. It is lightweight, yet tackles cans like it’s a heavyweight. See what I did there? 😉

This is the favourite can opener in our house and the only kind I ever buy now. Points to consider: 1) I have lots of experience with can openers turning rusty after a few months of usage – not this one. It works well for years and is very reliable. 2) Other can openers get yucky grime caught in the gears but not this one. I put it in the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of wear. Other can openers have been ruined in the dishwasher – but not this one. 3) It is lightweight while still being strong, and the large knob is easy to turn even for kids. The handles are comfortable to hold. I can tell it is well designed and constructed with quality. It grips the cans tightly and cuts through the metal easily. 4) It even has a bonus bottle opener. So many things in life can be hard – OXO Good Grips Can Opener, I am glad that you don't have to be one of them.
