California Sun Shade Shade Sail Right Triangle 15ft x 12ft x 9ft Heritage Green

I needed coverage for my back patio as I live in Palm Springs and it gets hot! hot! hot! during the summertime. My dogs love this patio, but I was afraid to let them out during our brutal summer months for fear that our pavers would burn their paws (it can get to 110 here and above). I bought a large patio umbrella and it gave some coverage, but not nearly enough. I had a sail shade at my previous place, but the roof there was the same height throughout. At my current place the roof changes heights dramatically (see attached photo). I didn't want too much of a "ripple" effect so a square or rectangular shade wasn't an option. A standard triangle shade would have worked, but I wouldn't have received as much coverage as I desired. I started searching for Isosceles Triangle sail shades and than ultimately stumbled upon a better search team, "Right Angle Sail Shade". The first ones I saw were from an Australian company and while they seemed to be nice, they were more than I wanted to spend. Than I came across the California Sun Shade Sail Right Triangle. At less than $30 the price was a steal. The last obstacle was whether the shade would work. I say this because unlike a square, rectangle or standard triangle shaped shade, this one has different dimensions (15 x 12 x 9). I wasn't sure if one side of the of the shade was intended to point upwards (towards the sky) for proper UV protection. Fortunately, I asked a question about this and the manufacturer quickly posted an answer letting me know that the shade could be mounted either way regardless of side. I purchased the "BlueDot Trading Sail Shade Hardware" to go along with it. The shade well exceeded my expectations. IMO it looks great, but I'll let you look at the finished product photo I've attached to be the judge. ******As another benefit there is less sun coming in through my sliding glass doors. I used to have to put the window blinds down because the heat coming in would turn on my air conditioner constantly. So not only do I have a nicely covered patio, my dogs can head out there anytime and I'm sure I'm saving some money on the A/C not running as much. Very happy!

With the dimensions of this shade sail we feel like it was custom made for us, our south facing living room window and our front porch would get so hot before. Now we can enjoy even the hot days!

Is the long side (15') supposed to curl? There's absolutely no way to get it tight. This makes me think that it's not perfectly cut/straight. I have two other shades in different sizes that don't do this. thinking of returning. Otherwise, it seems to be ok.

It was just what we needed to give some sun/heat relief on our east-facing patio. Our family room was so much more comfortable during this unusually hot Oregon summer with this sail in place. It appears to be holding up well, but I'll update my review if I find otherwise. Right now, we're very pleased with this sail. We have a new pergola on the same side of the house, and because retractable shades are so expensive, I'm considering getting another one of these sails and trying to retrofit as a retractable shade.

LOVE IT! This right-angle sail works perfectly in the corner of our deck. We live at the top of a mountain in Northern California, and the wind gusts are insanely strong. This sail performs and looks as good as the day we put it up at the beginning of summer. It hasn't stretched, it hasn't faded, it hasn't torn. I didn't buy the hardware kit because you can purchase the hardware you need much cheaper at any hardware store. And definitely use the swivel clips....they work perfectly!!!

This sun shade is fabulous. It looks good up, easy to install and does exactly what it is meant to do. We previously bought a sail but it wasn't a right triangle. That sail too was nice but because it wasn't a right triangle, pieces of sun came in. This sail doesn't allow any sun to come through.We bought the Ollieroo Sunshade sail hardware to attach the current sunshade sail to the house. One of the things I like about this product is it doesn't scream out NOTICE ME. Looks classy.

We've had three of these up for three months now, in Florida, directly on the Gulf, through one of the hottest, wettest, nastiest summers we've had in years. They are holding up beautifully, and provide the perfect amount of shade in the super hot afternoons to make out back deck tolerable. They've also stood up to heavy downpours, and 30+ mph winds. Very, very happy with everything about these shades and now my neighbors have all ordered them. We look like a Tent City! We mounted them on poles set into concrete patio, with the included mounting hardware beefed up with some some additional parts to get the right tension. We chose not to pull our super tight, but left some give in it. That seemed to work better than the neighbor that pulled theirs taut, as they had some lift during high winds. They were using half whiskey barrels with concrete/dirt. When they loosened the tension they never had another problem. Great product!

Fantastic product. This is our third product from the line. It was exactly as described, the right color. We have 2 of the SunShade blinds and added this to go over our outdoor patio. It is wonderful and not only blocks the UV rays but makes the patio 15 degrees cooler. Sturdy and easy to put up. The Texas heat is brutal this time of year and this is the first time we have been able to sit on our patio any time of the day in 100 degree heat.
