Lexmark X4650 Multifunction Printer (16F1400)

if it worked like it was supposed to ,there would be a happy camper.WiFi went missing no long after setup so it does not work for ME.I'vehad and used Lexmark printers for years but thanks to this odd job we may be parting ways.I'm sure there are working models out there this just was not one of them,now I have a parts machine instead of the AIO I was looking for.this after purchasing ink and missing USB = not good.in Amazons defense an A to Z claim was filed and seller would have refunded purchase price but the cost of packing and shipping back along with items purchased for itn good faith totaled nearly 3x the item cost.not mentioning the cost it would be if had to send back for one third the total amount I don't think so..get new if you can from a store.even some purchased online have good options from what I've heard.

I have been using this printer for the past 8 months and it has outperformed my expectations. Print speed is very fast, and the array of scanning features is impressive (being able to scan in documents and convert them to PDFs is very handy). I found the printer had a "communication" problem when my computer was running Vista (it would timeout after a few hours and I wasn't able to print/scan anything until I restarted the computer). BUT, since upgrading to Windows 7 (I use 64-bit), everything has worked perfectly and all drivers/features are 100%. Very happy with this printer. Highly recommended.UPDATE after 11 months of use: Printer is still working great and I have no issues. I currently have the printer setup about 12 feet away from my computer and all of my printing/scanning goes over my wireless network. No problems at all, and printer never seems to "time out" or drop communication/connection with network and computer. Again, I am very happy with this printer. No odd sounds or any sign that this product is getting old. I am not a constant printer at home (that's why they have printers at work), but if you are printing dozens of pages a day, well then you clearly have unusual home printing habits. For us normal folks who print out directions, boarding passes, coupons, and other occasional items then you can't go wrong here.

Wow...what a disappointment. Nothing was easy about setting this up. It sucked hours and hours out of my life.All the info said this was mac compatible...but not on my new Macs. The only way it would connect was through a usb cord. Then it would error stating: Printer not connected. I was able to get it to print twice by hitting the reset 40x in a row (mindlessly, out of angry frustration)...then it finally recognized it and printed a document. It took 2 mins to print a single page in B&W. Yes, I updated the drivers. Then after having it for a month. Apple updated the drivers automatically again. Still no improvement. I am convinced it is a driver issue.The good: I installed the drivers on my Fujitsu laptop running XP pro. It instantly recognized the printer wirelessly and printed a single-spaced document impressively fast.Conclusion: Not for Macs (regardless of Lexmark claiming that it is compatible). I gave it away after that month. Waiting now for reviews of compatibility of the Lexmark Genesis with Mac. If it reviews well...will buy that. I don't want to go back to ink-hungry Canons but may have to.

I bought this printer because of all the good reviews it had. It has caused nothing but trouble for me. It takes me 30 minutes to just print one piece of paper. The wireless is pointless, I thought it would help save space but this printer is HUGE. I've never had luck with any Lexmark printers, the last one wouldn't print straight. I'm about to take a baseball bat to this printer because of all the frustration it has caused me. I will never buy Lexmark again!Edit: I moved this up to 2 stars instead of 1 star. I think I finally have this printer working decently, but I would still never buy this brand again. Setup was and still is a pain. The replacement ink cartridges are very pricy and the print quality is horrible. I've tried printing some resumes with this printer and I would not recommmend it. There were clearly issues with alignment and the ink was not even in many spots. I also have many feed issues with the paper. Every time I print it will grab multiple pieces of paper or print crooked.

Needed a printer for moderate daily use for a fair price. This Lexmark printer does the job. Have printed everything from basic documents to t-shirt transfers all without a hiccup. Setup to our wireless network was child's play. Just follow the easy on screen prompts and its done. Total setup took approximately 10mins. I connected this printer to (2) laptops with ease. Quality is top notch and the printer is surprisingly quiet. So much in fact that I sometimes have to go into the room where the printer is located to make sure it's actually printing and of course it works like I said without a hiccup. Now for the price of the printer...ink might be an issue. The printer is so cheap that you might be better off just buying a new printer instead of cartridge refills...lol. As for features, this printer has them all including fax & scan software. If you're in the market for a fair priced, loaded with features, nice looking & reliable wi-fi printer this one is for you.p.s. I'm using both Windows XP and Windows 7 Pro 32bit to print with this Lexmark with NO PROBLEMS.
