Why can't an aluminum scoop be cleaned in the dishwasher?

Dishwasher detergent contains elements that do not play well with aluminum and the reaction will make it dark. That's why it is not recommended to wash it in a dishwasher, please hand wash using regular dish soap and a soft sponge only;

Why are the package dimensions (8.62 x 3.19 x 1.89) smaller than the measurements given in the product description (8.75 x 3.25 x2.25)?

I don’t know the answer - I keep it in my freezer as an ice scooper so no hands are placed in ice cube tray! Love it so much I bought one for my mom too!

Is it really 38 oz being equal to 4.75 us cups capacity? Another brand said 38 oz and it held less then a cup.

I purchased the 5 oz, which is accurate. I would assume each size they sell is accurate.
