What a superb book! It is my first by this author and I am eager to read more. It has everything you want. Romance, comedy, drama. 5 star book

Nice easy read, funny in places with laugh out loud moments, liked the characters and the chemistry between them, would have liked a bit more though cos there story as only just begun.

What happens when an insurance adjuster and the county coroner are involved in a car accident? The start of a relationship that has them both reeling! Zoey has just come from a examining a dead body when she hits Blake's car and when she hasn't filed the paperwork a few days later, Blake searches her out. Soon they are embroiled in an investigation of murder that had them getting closer. This was a hilarious read with so many twists and turns that the only surprise is how long it takes them to admit they like each other!

Zoey is the coroner in her local town and the folks around think of her as a bad omen because death seems to follow her and not just in her job. This part of the story I found to be daft, it doesnt help the story and it goes on and on. Blake joins the story as he deals with life insurance and after the death of one of his clients he needs to investigate. Something dosent seem right to either Zoey or Blake and the set out to prove it and also get very close.

I first discovered Lauren Landish during Lockdown and read My Big Fat Fake Wedding.I’ve read many of her books’ series since then.Her writing is addictive.Especially in these times.I understand that it’s erotica, but even if it wasn’t.. I mean minus the hot and steamy scenes too... I’d have read her books for sure. I love her stories and the characters who’re so caring about each other.So Blake and Zoey meet when Zoey hits Blake’s car. They both are safe. But Zoey’s history and the people in her county have made her believe that she’s sort of a bad omen for those whom she loves. This has made her insecure and wary.I love how Blake looks beyond her walls of insecurities, self doubts and fears. And I love how he appreciates not only her body but her brains too. And I love how his character isn’t larger than life. He’s mostly portrayed as guy-next-door, or so I think.It takes time, but they both work hard for this relationship. Blake because he has to get past her walls. And Zoey because she has to believe that she can have a happy ending.There is humour and there is emotion. And then there is persistence. Not stalking, but determination. And not a lust for bodies only, but a genuine interest in winning the hearts.Oh and it’s a murder mystery too. And there is humour in that too. I mean Richard Horne, aka Dicky! Seriously!?The supporting characters are good too.Just a teeny tiny itty bitty problem. The words primal and animalistic are used in almost all those romance-erotica novels. Can we find or create more words please?

I loved this book my 1st by this author honestly I laughed soo hard zoes "weirdness" is totally up there with mine I loved her soo much .what a character !!.the love story was adorable her and Blake oh man what a perfect match the twist surprised me and had me completely hooked .. this was definitely a romantic comedy drama

Loved this - one of my favourites from Lauren Landish, I think (along with One Day Fiancé). Loved Zoey & Blake, really enjoyed the plot (romance, self discovery + a little light mystery). Worth a read!

Zoey is the coroner, the person the town picks on and one who has the worst luck, but all that is surface level, when an unexpected crash bring Blake into her life, finally things go deeper.Blake is a romantic at heart, and with fate on his side he not only meets Zoey before working with her but gets to see under the layers that many forego....This book has it all, romance, comedy, danger, chemistry and mystery. Loved it.

Esse deve ser um dos meus livros favoritos no momento! A escrita é bem fluida, a trama é divertida e sensível ao mesmo tempo. Super recomendo. Se você está começando a ler em inglês agora, esse livro pode ter algumas palavras mais complicadas devido à profissão da personagem principal, mas isso não deve ser um grande problema.

Another great work by the author which feels like a concoction you would have any given day as it's funny, exciting, thrilling, it makes you laugh, sad, nervous.Although, the book revolves around delicate topics like Superstion and Bad Omens it's a fun read. Lauren makes you understand the depths and effects superstions can cause keeping the book a light read which is a commendable job.It's a good romance with a murder mystery anything additional that's required is just a cup of coffee to enjoy the read.Blake is handsome, intelligent, dorky, a trivia genius with a good sense of humour. On the other hand, Zoey is Drop Dead Gorgeous, a beauty with brain, sarcastic and funny.It's hilarious the way she reacts to people's innuendos.It is heartwarming to read how Blake sheds all the walls Zoey has surrounded herself with. Never giving up.Not gonna say much as it's a mystery but honestly it's an amazing read. Would re-read any given day. Bonus the is extended epilogue 😁

What a great read. Loved the characters and the murder mystery combined with the love story. Highly enjoyable. Also loved the downloaded epilogue.
