I like the timer, and the adjustable red/blue shift is pretty cool. The night light looks pretty cool. I don't use the functions very much any more, just leave it on timer so the plants get what they need. Update: almost exactly one year later, the light seemingly died. It did weird things, was really dim. Glad I found the desertcart review that said holding W and B buttons down together resets it. Working back to normal. Thanks! The controls are simple and effective. In the timer mode you can choose 8,10 or 12 hour options that begins whenever that is set, there is no option to choose a time. Timer is for 100% daylight mode only. When that time is up the light goes completely off. There is a 15 minute ramp up/down at each end of the time block. It would be nice if there was an option for the blue lights to remain on when the timer shuts the daylight off. Understanding that each feature adds cost, this is a very good light at a great price. It will be interesting to see how plants do with it. I was never a fan of this light from the start. It would work normally for a while then even with resetting the timer, it started going on and off at random times. I’ve decided to purchase a light from a different brand that I have for all my other tanks that’s actually cheaper and much more reliable! Edit to add: after writing my review, the company reached out to me. They requested a video showing what was going wrong and unfortunately I had already thrown the light out. They kindly refunded me for my purchase.
