I wonder if I should have tried to stretch it to measure it, because this 12 foot stand is just barely big enough. If I just hang the hammock loops over the hooks, it goes on easily and sinks to about 5 inches from the ground when I lie in it (nearly touching the ground when I first sit down). I've taken to wrapping each end once around the bars before hooking it on, which takes up a little bit of slack so that I don't have to worry about hitting my butt while moving around. I haven't measured the hammock stand to see if it's actually 12 feet, but I trust that it is - I think this is a combination of my hammock having more stretch than I expected and the bars on this stand having just a little bit of give to them.The quality seems good and setup was insanely easy.
