Great alarm, but could use a louder siren
I bought this for my 99 Accord & it's great. I had a friend install it because he had it done way faster than I could have. It operates call the locks & trunk. All the options function great. The one thing I don't like is that the siren is not loud enough to be heard clearly. I will buy a louder one so it will actually scare someone & be heard in my house.

Not as bad as I thought.
The first one I got had some issues so I return it back and got another one. If you're handy with your hands, know how to read instructions/diagrams, and look at videos on how to install a car alarm I'll say do it. But I recommend for most people to have it professionally installed. It took longer than I expected, but I was able to install it myself. I put this alarm in a 97 Honda. I can start the car remotely. It has ignition/starter kill. Basically everything you can think of from an upscale car alarm has it. From my understanding, the company who makes this alarm is the sane company that build the Viper. Donny The late Model Tech from YouTube is a good source. Also a website called The12volt.com is a good place to find the wires and color code of your car.

Directed Electronics (Viper) Quality
What can you say, except this is made by Directed so the Quality is Excellent!! Directed Electronics is the company that makes the venerable (Viper ) brand of remote starts. So they are legendary. The remote start is so simple to use anyone could do it with little to no instruction. I am a professional installer, so the installation is simple for me, but I do have to say you might be hard pressed to install this yourself if you have never installed a remote start before. I would recommend to leave the installation to a professional.

Does what it says
Made by DEI, so its the same as any other DEI brand, just depends on what alarm name you want or your key fob to look like. Has decent range. The 2 way fob is a bit laggy, so if you open the door and trigger the alarm there's like little to zero chance you'll be able to cancel the alarm before it fully triggers. Sometimes it doesn't respond to the fob either, but a second press will get it done. Battery life is decent on the 2 way remote. Even with having my 2 way remote programmed to 3 separate vehicle alarm systems (each 2 way remote can be programmed for up to 4 vehicles) the battery life is acceptable. Installation is straightforward enough, but IT SHOULD BE MADE DIFFICULT. Sure, one could slap this bad boy in in about 30 minutes with a wiring chart and tap connectors and butt splices. But that's the WRONG way to do it. If you pay a "Professional" installer to install your alarm, and you get the car back 45 minutes later with the module and its wiring clearly visible and just zip tied up under the dash, tell them to take a hike, you might as well not even have an alarm at all because a theif can bypass ALL of its functions by snipping one wire or unplugging one connector. The module should be hard to locate, and even harder to access. I do not like that the valet/program switch, antenna, and LED indicator are all one unit that needs to be placed in a conspicuous location to get best range. This is somewhat of a security risk as the valet switch can be used to bypass the alarm. I would much prefer the valet switch be a separate unit so I could just not install it after I'm done programming, like I have done with my other installs. That being said, make SURE the installer changes the default settings for the emergency disarm feature.

Good Product For The Price
I had this professionally installed along with the DB3, on a 2012 Kia Optima, push-button start, by an Authorized dealer on Mar 5th and it's working great so far, and I do love remote starting it on those 5-degree mornings. the items had to be hard-wired to my car and it took the guy about 4 to 5 hours to complete. He said the only issue he had was getting the Tach wired correctly. Also, they charge extra if I wanted my trunk connected to the remote start. I thought the 4 buttons remote start would be hooked up to operate the intended parts of the vehicle from the beginning but I was wrong. Only the start, unlock, and lock buttons get connected. The security alarm is not very loud when it goes off and I doubted if my neighbors heard it with their front door and windows closed. The two-way remote LCD is not very bright when showing the status. I hoped my review will help someone who is on the fence about getting this unit. I am very very pleased so far!!!!

First time good, second not so good
Bought this exact alarm for my 2000 civic and worked perfectly, this second time bought it for my wife's 95 grand cherokee and after install the alarm wasn't working and only certain things like lock and trunk pop worked. Took the brain out my civic and put it into the grand cheorkee and everything worked so I unfortunately got a faulty alarm brain. The remote start is a nightmare to wire compared to other brands FYI. I have a Scytek a4.2w in my 93 grand cherokee and compared to this alarm/renote start, wiring was a breeze.

Well worth the two way remote.
Installed in two GM trucks and definitely like the two way remote. Haven't done anything fancy with them but there's a lot of features available if you have a fancy car. Avital is a good product I've had good luck with ther car alarms back in the mid 90s.

Excelente calidad es la misma marca que saca Viper, en cuestión de instalación yo tube que poner en mi coche Jeep Wrangler el modulo para la llave, pero independientemente de eso es excelente y mas por el precio

Reached a day before the day it was supposed to Installation was perfect. The starter worked amazing the first time. It only lacks a pulse button and a flip switch if you want some more options. I would recommend buying this product Ships very late

I like this remote starter so far. The way you program features with the antenna control button is nice and easy. Only inatalled it today so dont know durability. Would be nice if the install instructions were more organized.
