Why does run then stops then starts flasing lights like it lost power to the board

Flashing lights with no response is the indicator that the battery is exhausted. Place the battery on the charger. My first charge took almost 4 hours. Every one since has been right at 2 hours and I get at least an hour of run time if I'm just crawling at low speeds.
