This boxed meal was easy to make and tasted fine. It's not gourmet or anything but you can compare it to any other type box helper. The instructions are easy to follow and you can make this with ground meat or any other type of meat really. I made mine with ground beef but I'm sure that this would still be a decent meal for a vegetarian spin on it. I browned the meat first in the frying pan and then poured the batter on top. We like having Mexican food night so this was fun to add into our rotation of meals. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality that came out of a boxed dinner. I kind of expected it to be more Chef Boyardee quality. I will probably buy this dinner again, its good for those nights where you don't know what to cook and you just need to whip something up in a jiffy. I am a college student, so cooking is something that I don't have a lot of time for. The directions to this product were a little much - just a lot of steps for a simple meal. I did have to go and purchase a few extra ingredients for this meal which is a little disappointing. I was also upset in the number of pots I had to dirty just for this one meal (lol). It also came out looking very ugly. I did give this three stars because cheap food is cheap food. I do need to save all the money that I can (even though I had to purchase extra ingredients that the box did not provide). I do not know if I would purchase this again, but it was fun to try once. The number of steps in this simple cooking did give my boyfriend and I plenty of time to cook together. This product did arrive in a timely manner, which is a great job to the sellers.I was offered this product at a discount in exchange for my review. This easy to make meal was delicious! I added a can of rotel instead of the diced tomatoes and my picky husband devoured two bowls. The instructions are very easy to follow and you can make this with or without ground meat. I made mine with ground turkey but I imagine that this would still be a substantial meal without any meat. I browned the meat in my cast iron skillet and after draining, poured the batter on top and actually put the cast iron skillet into the oven. We typically lean towards Mexican or Southwestern inspired foods so I knew we would like this, but I am surprised at the quality and wholesomeness that came out of a boxed dinner. Even though I had a feeling it would be a hit in my house, it was unlike anything we've made before and it was a great change of pace. I will probably buy this dinner again and will definitely be looking into other dinners made by this company.I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
